For the anecdote: when crosssing the river in Dinant, the saxophones on the bridge's sides are there for a reason. This popular music instrument was named after its inventor, Adolphe Sax who was a native of Dinant.

Drove 2 years ago along The Meuse from Namur to Dinant, then over Charkemagne bridge further. It was nice to see also the section between the french border and Dinant. The valley is spectacular, and there are many things to see and do around. Thanks for the video, greetings from a fellow roadtripper and creator from Germany!

That is mostly the case with older signs... The new ones are pretty modern. Though... For example: the signs by the ring of antwerp.

The road seems to be in a quite good condition for most of the trip. It's not always guaranteed in Belgium. Wallonia has been investing more money into its road network ! I'm looking forward to seeing a potholes-free Belgium in a few years.

I was positively surprised by that as well, the road has a very good surface. It seemed like Wallonia has more trouble maintaining the four lane roads than the two-lane roads. N90 from Namur to Liège was generally okay, until you hit the four lane segment which has degraded substantially.

@@EuropeanRoads The Sofico has been concentrating its ressources on big highways over the last 10 years. Now they're shifting towards those particular secondary segments. There's still work to be done but I'm optimistic towards the future.

There is indeed this common misconcption that Belgium as a whole is flat country - partly due to the song "Le Plat Pays" by Jacques Brel; this is true in Western and Norther Belgium, mostly Flanders and Hainaut. But Central Belgium is often hilly. And there are the Ardennes in the southeast (where I live) that cover about one third of the country, where the Battle of the Bulge took place in 1944-4945. These naturally are very modest heights compared with the Alps for example, with the highest point at 694 meters (2276 feet), but you definitely have this mountain scenery, including ski tracks in winter (mostly cross country skiing). The Valley of the Meuse shown here marks the western and northern edges of the Ardennes... with a small extension on the west bank called la Fagne.

Belgium is a beautiful country, especially the Ardennen. Been in this part many times and it never gets bored and you always find new interesting things to see, Only one minir thing is the Wallonian people mentality ......the most are not very nice at all, i never understand why..... Anyway i love your video, thanks !

​@@pleun315Ik ben Waals maar van Vlaamse afkomst. Er zijn zelfs families die elkaar haten omdat ze half Waals en half Vlaams zijn. Ook de Waalse Ardennen zijn niet altijd bevriend met andere Walen. maar de Walen koesteren een haat tegen de Fransen. de Walen zullen niet aarzelen de Fransen te beledigen en de Fransen mogen ons ook niet altijd. de meeste Walen houden van Nederlanders omdat veel Walen van Nederlandse en Vlaamse afkomst zijn en wij van de Lage Landen. maar de Ardense Walen zijn soms niet zo gezellig met toeristen en andere Walen en Vlamingen
