Changes to the administration of puffing billy have made it a lot more difficult. I have been enjoying the train for almost 70 years but when I last tried to go with my son I had to book in advance for a specific train. No chance to get off somewhere and go for a walk in the Dandenongs. Nor do I have any idea of what is actually IN the train I would be booked on. It would just have been pot luck. So I did not go. It all gets just TOO hard.

The Puffing Billy railway is a 2 foot 6 inch or 762mm narrow gauge railway located in the east of Melbourne Australia and was formally owned by the Victorian Railways as well as 3 other narrow gauge lines around Victoria, the Puffing billy railway has a connection to Broad gauge 5 foot 3 inch or 1,600 mm suburban electric trains at Belgrave.
