That dowel pin should have been started in, a little earlier in the process.

Absolutely. It’s a great tool. When I discovered it would work with a lot of the old 0XX Stihl models I knew I’d use that over the OEM assembly tool.

I also got the idea of the simple homemade press for installing the bearing cold from Matt’s videos. Can’t beat simple solutions that are also cheap.
