I work in palliative care. It isn’t the same as hospice. Hospice is end of life care, for people choosing to be made comfortable at that time instead of pursuing further treatment for themselves. Palliative is more like assistance with chronic or serious illness - whether it be symptom management for cancer patients undergoing treatment or discussing the changes one goes through as their disease progresses. Often times, palliative isn’t consulted until very late in the disease progression, so that’s why people tend to equate it to hospice.

Sad they just talk about such an important part of a person's healthcare journey with such ignorance and dismissal. Bravo to you for being in a tough care space. You must be a very caring person with a huge heart!

Jim, I think you know us well enough by now to know that we're not ignorant about it and obviously enjoy and appreciate life and all its aspects. All of us have had close family members in both hospice and palliative care, so we feel like we can talk about it, even with some humor attached. Also, you can't tell me that the word hospice doesn't sound like something that would elevate an apple pie flavor. - R

@@Believeintherun Well said Robbie. The care you showed for Ralphie, demonstrates what great peeps you all are. Palliative care, simply means, when you treat the person, not the disease.

Best part was Tom asking if Meg is flexible 😂 and Robbie being so aware.of the Diddy scandal. also the taco place is 10/10. 10 out of 10 translates to "10 de 10" in spanish. They open at 1130 and close at 10😅

My favourite moment during this podcast was Thomas and Meaghan talking about the Mizuno ‘mystery shoe’ marketing strategy and Robbe being totally Robbe and chiming up “It’s like when you dress a dog up as a ghost - you know it’s not a ghost”. Just absolute gold.

I loved your Brooks TRE video and am really excited about the Hyperion line (including-finally-the Elite) but also will try the upcoming Glycerin for the first time. And a friend who is testing the Hyperion3 says it’s absolutely his favorite shoe of all time. I’m loving v2 at the moment. My first marathon ever was in the Launch6 before the shoe-plosion so it’ll be like coming a full circle.

Brooks was the star of TRE, I agree! Hoka was ehh, glad they are fixing the heel for the Mach X 3. Topo with incremental improvements, good presence, Russ is one of the best presenters. Saucony did not explain the Endorphin lineup very well, but the return of Mutant is 🔥 New Balance: where were they?

I’m psyched for the Brooks 2025 lineup! Especially the Endorphins though.

Skechers Razor 3 was first publicly available at the NYC Marathon Expo in 2018. I picked my first pair up there and ran the race in them.

Question: I too wear some of my running shoes for a lot of walking when I’m traveling. Do you guys (BITR but everyone else, too) count your walked miles when you determine how many miles you got out of your shoes? I use Strava to create long walks that estimate my walking mileage but don’t make them public; just to have an idea for the life of the shoes.

That Mizuno looks an awful lot like a Neo Vista. If it is the next version, I'm excited about it. Love the look and hope it hasn't changed much.

We only made them for the team. If we were to produce them, we’d have to search out a better quality.
