No, my valid Minnesota license is all I needed to rent and drive in Belize. I do pay for the extra $12 per day insurance because the roads are rough and local drivers are all over the board as far as driving safely.

@@monkey_doodle4035 check your credit card - mine covers insurance for international vehicle rentals, but not all of them do.
