What's really awesome to me is the mechanical balance of it all, in that the shafts are all so precisely lathed that none can be off more than micro millimeters or craft would vibrate apart. It's the balance that amazes me, the gyro balance and how all the machinery has to be working precisely together for any of it to work, or it would just wobble apart.

The Vietnam helicopters were Bell HU-1 Huey and Bell HU-1 B/C Cobra, among others. None were Bell 212 twin turbine.

It is a Huey, sort of. The Huey family includes all the civilian variants, including the 204, 205, 212, and others. It's the same airframe, so to me at least, it's still a Huey even if it's not called a UH-1.
