I’ve actually had the opportunity to play with an EST4 and even its programmer. It’s actually a nice unit. I love the way it works. The programming though is interesting. You need to have more of a background in computing to truly understand it well. It uses a project tree which literally is the programming. From the project tree, you add panels, cards, and devices to branches and assign them to parents depending on what they are. For example, a card is assigned to a panel and a device or Rulescript file (EST version of custom control) is assigned to a card within a panel. From there, you assign correlations using the aforementioned Rulescript file and you can actually choose where to store the file so that it only reads from certain parts of the project tree. Speaking of reading from certain parts, Rulescripts now use location specifications in brackets so that you can really hone down on where you want to rule to apply. I’m still learning it but I’ve learned a lot of how it works and it is cool and there’s a lot I like about it.

Really cool system, I thought the bells would be louder in the main pool/aquatics area. seems like it would've been cool to interface the wave warning horn with the system, as those things tend to be way louder

@@GaryBeltz Yeah the other building in the city with same system has no strobes because it was an older est or Edwards I believe and when it was installed strobes weren't needed. And the system was replaced because of poor quality like false alarms every month a few times so it was replaced and the only thing changed was pulls

@@JoshuaKing-qb4fj This one was a QuickStart QS4 before, installed as part of the 2009 renovation. Original system was a Custom 6500.
