I am getting a puppy in a few months and have been researching many things. I am now on dog food and I can honestly say this has been the most unpleasant part of my search. Varying opinions and arguments for and against one thing or another. Raw dog food is such a hot topic. One of the arguments for raw dog food is that it's a more natural diet. An argument against it is that it can carry pathogens, like E. coli, listeria and salmonella. Well, that's bad for pets and human, isn't it? I hope I can make a satisfactory decision soon so I can move on from this madness.

I've just bought a load of this it arrived yesterday. My dog's been on raw for a month and it's the best thing I've done for him. I have a new dog care website and I'm trying to educate owners on raw feeding 🐾

@@thedognutritionist Cam, can you please give me some advice. I've had Mikki (previously kibble fed for over 5 years) on raw for almost 6 weeks and his breath has improved only a little. It's still terrible tbh and i thought it would have disappeared. Any advice?

I used to use raw made simple who were also amazing. Unfortunately after a while my senior dog kept turning his nose up at raw. He did really well while he was on it tho

I am getting a puppy next week and was to introduce a raw diet for her. I was looking at Naturaw ... have you looked into that food at all? I'd love to know your take on that one

Both my dogs was on B&D unfortunately both started to lose their hair that we had to stop feeding them B&D, changed to Pure until their hair grew back, we then went back to B&D, again they were loosing their hair! Very frustrating

I always advocate for homemade over any pre-made food, that way you can control what's going into your dog's body and easily identify any intollerances

He states in his videos he doesnt get paid by these companies I think its pretty clear if you actually watch a number of the videos, and read his free guides into preparing fresh food for your dog. His number one priory is keeping the animal as healthy as possible,along with his utter despair, in what actually goes into the vast majority of processed dog food.

Should we be looking at the quality of the meat as well and not just the meat content. For example, do we know which parts of the animal and where it was raised etc?

Hey Hannah, yes definitely. I think around 50-70% muscle meat, 10-30% for offal, 10-15% bone.

Im very upset with this food. My German SHepherd is terribly constipated on it, we had a much better raw mix before I tried this.

My dog is overweight vet told me to feed hills science plan and he put on 2kg in 2 weeks now they say hill metabolic but i have been looking at reviews and have concerns about this food he is a douge de bordeux cross ridgeback vet says he should be 45kg he now weighs 58kg after feeding hills he is 9 years old please can you advise me on what i should do

Are you feeding the right amount if you feed for a 45kg dog cut out all treat or you include into his daily allowance add an extra 15 mins on to his walks and build from there

@@simonsmith7594 yes i was feeding the right amout as advised by my vet i cut all trests as they advised and he still gained weight so i bought the dog nutritionists recipe book worth every penny has all the information needed to understand what they need and how much easy recipes you can feed raw or cooked never seen my dog enjoy his food that much before i was hesitant at first to change to this but so glad i did its only the second day of feeding him it but he would normaly just walk away from his food and only eat it cos there is nothing else today he stood there barking at me for it as i was dishing it up

@@thedognutritionist thank you for your quick response. Vets do not seem to like raw due to ecoli. I'm feeding raw at the moment (nutriment) but was thinking of moving to butternut box as my dog is beginning to get fed up with the taste of nutriment although may now go with Bella and Duke

@@rosiedaydream7040 wouldn’t recommend Bella and duke there’s been study’s now that legumes have been know to course dcm in dogs as it might and it uses so much legumes that it isn’t worth it there so many other healthy options like air dried food different dog as it’s cooked but with no fillers

Is this raw food approved/certified as human grain? If not, there is probably a high risk of bacterial infection, right? That's why I think I'll change this food. Unfortunately, I also had bad experiences because several times we found plastic pieces of a plastic bag in our food! Of course it was reported.

if you love ur pet you re willing to pay 30p more a day for it to live up to 5 years longer and or it to be on a healthy diet not maccies everyday

It is expensive compared to other commercially prepared raw foods because of these sponsorships, ads, social media presence etc. Try Natural Instinct.. a bit cheaper.
