Pedro Pascal is Chilean, not Mexican. He is also white. More than half of Chile is white European, especially those from the cities, such as the capital, Santiago, his place of birth. Standing at 180 cm (5’11”), Pascal is also far from short. As for the video game character, Joel is supposedly around 178 cm (5’10”) or 180 cm (5’11”) tall. They are about the same height.

Pedro Pascal is pretty much a white guy (southern european looking) and he is not short at all.. he is actually the same height the character is supposed to be. Also Joel is not blond or blue eyed, he has dark features looking more southern Euro, like Pedro, than your stereotypical American.. and also is far from being "strong". he has an average build just like Pedro.. The character of Elle doesn't look that different from the actress they selected.. Americans have such a weird view of "race" and don't seem to understand that not all white people are Northern European looking.
