They probably had to do thousands of auditions just to get a part in a movie. They struck their luck and yes they are now millionaires. They did what 99% of the population are not doing they followed their dreams of becoming an actor. You should try acting and auditioning for a job as a career. Pedro was a barista while he was auditioning just to make ends meet.

For those who are wondering, the "Cordyceps" the're referring to is a particular type of fungus that exists in real life, it has been observed attaching itself to ants and controlling their central nervous system and making them go sort of crazy and infect other ants ultimately infecting and killing entire colonies. The show/game's premise is a "what if" this crossed species and started happening to humans scenario.

It could but it would likely take millions of years to evolve according to the science and nature article that I read a few weeks ago after watching the first few episodes. The different types of Cordyceps are apparently very particular about what they infect and control. For example, one type of Cordyceps that infects a species of ant in Asia it couldn't suddenly infect a species of ant in North America even with direct exposure. If Cordyceps has issues jumping from one ant species to another without a very long evolutionary period, then the jump from insects to mammals is much more difficult. That's one of the major points that the article was conveying and hopefully that's true!
