Hi Stephanie. New to your channel. I have tie dyed for years here and there for fun, but have never gotten serious. I've never ice dyed. Your pieces are amazing. I'm just curious, forgive my ignorance, do these folds work for regular tie dye applications too?

Welcome Michelle!! Yes, the majority of my patterns will work with liquid dyeing, they will just look a bit different. Liquid dye has a solid, flat look whereas ice dyeing has a lot of variations. This particular “geode” pattern can for sure be done with liquid. Try some ice dyes… I suspect you’ll enjoy it. Report back and let me know what you think. 😊❤️🌈

You seem to start at one spot and always move on to a contiguous area. Would it work to start some geode tendrils in a spot that’s not near what has already been done? (I don’t think I’m asking this very clearly.)

The think with these “geode” designs there is no right or wrong way. It seems like the more random the better. I’ve kind of settled on a way that works for me and typically do the same method over and over again. I’ll have to jump around next time I make one and see what that looks like. I say “go for it and see what you end up with!” ☺️❤️🌈

Yes, as long as it’s a natural fiber procion dye will bond.
