this is why sexual assault cases should be taken more seriously because all these men had previous history of sexual assault yet nothing was done & it lead to someone losing their life...

@Ena 123 I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that our systems just don't care about women and children that much. There's non-violent drug offenders doing more time than rapists and child molesters. It's sick and infuriating.

Shame on you.

@@signestsure3702 Wtf... It's not victim blaming, it's an opinion. She's NOT a victim. The fact that she said he told her about multiple previous sexual assaults and other crimes and she did absolutely nothing, is a huge problem.... she could have prevented this girl's death. Also, she hoarded the murderers in the house. So don't bash people for critical thinking. I've dealt with molestation and people who did nothing to save me, so maybe you should just be quiet, and not tell people "what they're not gonna do" just because you can't think logically. 😒 Siding with someone who kept all these crimes quiet.... seriously?! The only victim in this case, is the deceased and her loved ones.

This case just kills me. The fact she was so unknowingly unlucky, to see her friend instead of her husband, for the pay phones to not be working, no taxis to take her at the station. It's so relatable and yet for her these decisions led to her death. It's the worst case I've ever heard about because to think about the last hours of her life are heartbreaking. Five evil men torturing her for hours, then to have someone actually try to save her and they go quiet to go undetected. The fear she had until her last breath being on her face, it's horrifying. And all she did was choose to walk home.

My heart breaks for John, they truly sounded like soulmates, his pain must be unbearable and hearing how much he suffered haunts me. It baffles me that there are people walking this earth who commit such horrible despicable crimes. I hope John found peace, and that Anita’s memory continues to live on.

There are so many dark and tragic cases - however this one has always been one that has stayed with me. One I have always felt an unusual attachment to. Everything about this case is just deeply deeply heartbreaking and sickening. I can’t help but wish that the story had been very different. That a pay phone had worked, that her dad was just already there waiting for her, that her friend dropped her home. That she had decided to go to dinner with John instead of her friends, that the brothers that went out looking for her had found her. All these things I wish could’ve been different even though Anita has been gone for 34 years now. The pain on John’s face is palpable and I just don’t even want to imagine the unbearable pain he has had to suffer not only him but her lovely parents and sister also. I pray that Anita is truly at peace now, that she is somewhere where only beautiful good things can happen & she doesn’t feel any suffering any more. I pray that she is with her parents again & that some day soon John Cobby finds peace too. Thanks for doing a great job with this case. Rest in Peace Anita 🥀🥀✨🖤💜

This is so well said. My sentiments exactly. I'm emphatically against violence and not usually one for revenge but I cannot imagine being a medical professional having to treat these... monsters isn't even a strong enough word. I can't help but wish they could have been killed the exact way they killed her. The death penalty would be too humane in this case. They were so remorseless, so incapable of anything remotely human.

man this video really made me break down. her mom saying she just doesn’t want anyone else to feel pain just seemed selfless and made me think of my grandma. and then her husbands story too that is so incredibly tragic and i can’t imagine what they went through. so heartbreaking. i think it’s not as often we hear about what the families go through emotionally after something like this so thank you for shedding light on that and sharing their stories.

Any time my friends need a ride home, I will go the extra distance to get them there. Stories like this teach me to never leave a friend behind. I know its not the friends fault for not taking her all the way home and just to the station, but I would feel so guilty either way. One safe car ride would have made all the difference.

Poor John. I totally empathise with him falling into drugs hoping it would take him away from the pain, without taking his own life. And the strong want for revenge.
