There are so many dark and tragic cases - however this one has always been one that has stayed with me. One I have always felt an unusual attachment to. Everything about this case is just deeply deeply heartbreaking and sickening. I can’t help but wish that the story had been very different. That a pay phone had worked, that her dad was just already there waiting for her, that her friend dropped her home. That she had decided to go to dinner with John instead of her friends, that the brothers that went out looking for her had found her. All these things I wish could’ve been different even though Anita has been gone for 34 years now. The pain on John’s face is palpable and I just don’t even want to imagine the unbearable pain he has had to suffer not only him but her lovely parents and sister also. I pray that Anita is truly at peace now, that she is somewhere where only beautiful good things can happen & she doesn’t feel any suffering any more. As a woman, this case breaks my heart and makes me so scared of the world we live on. Rest in peace Anita, you were very much loved and remembered to this day, i hope nothing but the best to John and his family. And to all the men out there watching this, remember its not all men but its all women, stay safe sisters.

Poor John. I totally empathise with him falling into drugs hoping it would take him away from the pain, without taking his own life. And the strong want for revenge. I’ve not been through anything to that degree but certainly felt similarly after years of abuse then developing an ED. I’m glad he managed to turn his life around and live it despite it all 💙

It’s satisfying to know that they got their asses beat in prison. It was also nice to see John and his children visiting Anita. You could see that their love was that one that you should never let go. I hope John and her family finds peace.

I don't usually let these cases affect me, but when the Anita Cobby murder happened it really disturbed me, each time I see a story on her it chills me that humans can be so incredibly evil. I really think they should've let the crowds have them. They would've all peed themselves.

I know that I’m a couple months late but I just wanted to let you know that the details and work that you put into this case was exemplary. I actually could feel the rage of the public and the pure heartbreak of her husband. People like that should not breathe the same air as the rest of the world.
