And his offensive wrestling (especially takedowns and top control) held up well past his prime, even in his losses he was outwrestling dudes.

It’s called age. He can still perform better then most and he had some advantages. Huge respect shown at the end. These two are top athletes. Both are some of my favorites. The American gangster showed he had the drive to get this victory. Classic fight.

Haven't watched this in a while. Mainly cause both are past their primes, and Sonnen's later Bellator fights were pretty basic double legs with unsophisticated top control. But damn, Chael looks great here in rd 1. Best hands I've seen from him, and good grappling late.
