My favorite Christmas song of all time by far.Done very well here🎄. Like all the other people are saying it is a very hard song to sing. Very well written.

My favourite too ❤ Just goes to show how under appreciated The Waitresses were. The original is one of the best tunes ever, immaculately performed and, despite a decent effort here, proven how difficult to produce.

Hard to sing? This has to be the easiest rock pop song to sing I ever heard. Now if you said the bass line was difficult to play, than I would agree.

I've never heard of this group before, but the vocals were on point and the horns were killer. Great job.

@@cathleensheekeyandchristop4756 Yes, I know...I was 19 when it was released. Still contemporary to what people typically listen to and consider classic (Bing, Andy, Ray Coniff, Harry Simione, etc).

@@BuffaloGoodman gotcha, I was 18. For me "It's Cliched to be Cynical at Christmas" get the nod. We did a butchered version somewhere here on youtube : )

I have loved this song since I first heard it in the early 80’s. Loved Patty. It’s such a shame that every moment she wasn’t singing, she had a cigarette in her hand. She died of lung cancer at only 40. Jesus, what a waste. I believe Butler said he wrote this song in less than a day. The record company prez wanted a Christmas song from all his groups. So, Butler knocked this classic out in a few hours just to get the prez off his back. Butler never thought this song would amount to anything. One day, a friend from the East Coast called him to say his song was getting lots of airplay. His response was that it was about time “I Know What Boys Want” finally got some serious airplay. His friend said, “No. You don’t get it. Your Christmas song is getting all the airplay!” Butler said he was shocked. Simply amazing. God bless that record company prez. Best modern Christmas song.

Anyone remember the cartoon w/ the boy & dog of the same (band) name??? I think he was always searching for his mum. Anyone with me? Can I get witness? Please?
@Msyatt7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think you are talking about an old Japanese cartoon (Anime) called "Meiken Jolle (名犬ジョリィ)" in Japanese. It's based on the original Belle and Sebastian book (I think), but cartoon's title was changed, so did the dog's name from Belle to Jolle. You can probably copy & paste the Japanese title to search for it. I remember watching the cartoon when I was a child, and can still sing/hum the melody of the opening and ending songs. I actually found out as an adult that this cartoon was based on the original Belle and Sebastian children's book after I became a fan of Belle and Sebastian (the band) :-)
