The Griswolds car is always parked in Spearfish and they put a giant christmas tree strapped to the top of it as a christmas decoration

That's hilarious. At least they are living in the dream. 🤣

Belle Fourche is cool - living in Whitewood we go to belle often for various things - they have lots of good parades and fireworks and other events for people with children

I've heard of these parades! 😁

Belle Fourche was decimated this past summer with large hail - the emergency alert on our phones said "destructive softball sized hail" - many houses looked like they were blasted with shotguns.

One of my clients up there is just now getting their windows done. It was nuts!

I enjoyed the video. It's been a few years! But, I was born there. Brought back a lot of memories. It sure has changed a lot. But I could still find my way around town.

It's grown quite a bit even the past few years! I like the wide residential streets I drove through - with all the trees...very picturesque! Haven't made it up there, but I hear its the place to be for July 4th celebration.

The people I've know live up there love the community feel. 🤩

Yo, what happened to Pamida?
@TristanEmond5 ай бұрын
Wow I think they went out of business years ago. Some of the Pamida/Alco stores in the area are now Baumgartners - more farm/ranch style store.

So it's definitely pronounced Belle "FOOSH?" Not "Forsh?" Will I get ridiculed by the natives if I pronounced it FORSH? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@TristanEmond Жыл бұрын
Yep - it's Fooosh! You may not get ridiculed, but they'll know you ain't from around here. 🤣

How is it the geographical center of the US? I could see the North American continent. Good video though!

Gotta take into consideration Alaska and Hawaii. Then it makes sense... kinda. 🤣

I was in Rapid City last week 4/19/-4/27 looking to see if I'd like to move to So. Dakota when I retire next year. I have to say that I have never seen so many truly UGLY tract houses anywhere like I did in the Rapid City and Box Elder areas. Cookie cutter development houses built on top of one another where no one has any real property. Drab earth colored siding and a lot of them have BLACK siding! Who does that???? Driveways are barely long enough to contain a car or full-size pick-up truck. Houses lined up and in-line as if they were standing in a military formation. This is especially noticeable on straight streets where, when you look down the street, ALL of the leading edges of the homes are aligned perfectly as if a drill sergeant ordered, "Dress Right, Dress!" I found a lot to like about the Rapid City area, but Box Elder itself was depressing - shanty trailer parks and where there were better homes, they were the same butt ugly tract houses I saw all over the area. And these new built houses, while small and lacking any kind of real front, side or back yards were not cheap. Housing in the western side of South Dakota is no longer reasonable, but in my opinion, the tract houses and the depressing neighborhoods they have become are not worth once cent of anyone's hard earned money. Consequently, I am looking in Spearfish. And BTW, the neighborhood that Tristan Emond shows at 7:52 in this video is not anywhere I'd want to live either. This is lower-middle class housing at best.

Hey Tristan, the neighborhood you referenced as having bumpy streets is NOT one I'd ever put in a video if I was a realtor. I found it depressing. If this is SD living, you're going to turn a lot of people off.
