Thank you very much for the generous feedback. The crimped pipe and the soldered one was like this. all the compressors I have has these, might be where they are filling the refrigerant when produced. +Allen Holdway Thank you for the kind feedback Allen. The pod was used in of custom kitchen countertop production for treating the edges, and efgebanding. But that has to be 25-30 yrs ago. I actually did not plan to use this compressor, but needed a place to store it, and since my compressed air setup around the shop has some leaks, I have to wait for the whole system to pressurize. so this is compact and readily available.and always pressurized.

I've really enjoyed watching your innovative workbench development. The video quality and lengths are perfect too. Thanks for sharing! One question. .. doesn't the AC compressor require oil in the inlet air for lubrication? Do you think putting a couple drops of oil in the inlet before each use will make it last? I wonder if an inlet air filter might make it last longer also?
@bellevuesnekkeri8 жыл бұрын
+Tony Shulthise Thanks Tony. glad you like both the content and the videos. Its sometimes hard to cram everything interesting into a video, and not make it to long. but one does not want to make it to much fast paced either. Thanks for watching an commenting I have read online about othesr using this kind of compressor,and many recomend that you puta drop of oil or 2 into the inlet for lube, I have never done it, and have yet to have one fail on me. And getting a new one from an old fridge or similar is just around the corner.

The swiss army knife of work benches. Festool has nothing on you. I did not know you could use a refrigerator motor to pull a vacuum. I will need to research that further. What was the source for the valve you used. Thanks for sharing.
@bellevuesnekkeri8 жыл бұрын
+WoodRodent Thanks for the kind comment, and for watching. It works great for vacuum hold downs, and even vacuum bagging. Its completely quiet, and I manage to get -0,80 bar, if my meter is correct. the valve was salvaged from work, but I guess any 3 port valve should work (or 5/2 might be the correct terminologi)
@hesperhurt8 жыл бұрын
No joke... this might get rid of three seperate workbenches in my shop with the ideas it's given me! 👍 As for refrigerator compressors... they're bomb proof. Used them for all sorts including an emergency water pump (don't ask!!), pneumatic rockets with my students when I was a teacher and to power micro air tools. Great pieces of scrap 😉

i love your work. is there any need to regulate the vacuum line? i want to use a fridge compressor as a vacuum press but i am unsure if i need to regulate the vacuum pull with some kind of brass fitting or special valve?

Thank you. You only need the 3 way valve to "release" the vacuum. You want the maximum amount of vacuum available

A small reciprocating compressor produces enough vacuum? I was thinking I need to install a 3 phase scroll compressor on a VDF to control the compressor, but then I realized by the time I did that, I could by the Festool version.... probably just get a old fridge compressor, did you have to add a start capacitor or anything?
