In the beginning you are using a makita cordless saw with a homemade base for a track. Do you have a plan for that base and what kind of track are you using? How is it regarding tearout and whatnot?
@bellevuesnekkeri
@bellevuesnekkeri 9 жыл бұрын
+Michael Hensley Hi Michael. In this shot I just use a clamp on straight edge. But I do have a video on a tracksaw adapter plate for this cordless saw. Unfortunately I do not have any plans made for this. you can check out the video on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ7Ue3yPg6uBgbM

Looks great. Makes me want a CNC machine. One question though, why put holes in the top and bottom if your having the plywood underneath the bottom sheet? Does this not defeat the purpose and end up collecting a bunch of dust?
@bellevuesnekkeri
@bellevuesnekkeri 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt. The double side serves two purposes. First it gives the dogs extremely good support with 2 contact points on top and bottom. The ply underneath stops the dogs/pins from falling through. Second point is. When the first side gets beaten up, I can just flip the top and reveal a fresh side. Some dust and chip accumulation will happen, but a shopvac and compressed air will fix that if it becomes a problem. Thanks for watching and commenting

+Ross Williams, DC Thanks Ross. I got them off ebay, by far the best countersink set I own. No chattering, even on a hand drill. Only drawback if you make huge amount of holes in a row with the smallest one, it can clog up a little. They are something like these: www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-Chamfer-Countersink-Deburring-Drill-Bit-Set-Crosshole-Cutting-Metal-Tool-LO/161906451720?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33877%26meid%3Dc2bd5a31967346d4aefe206d1f6c3213%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252215143067

Great video. Well built. Two minor issues, first if you plan on using the festool clamps they won't fit in with the two slabs so close together and all the torsion dividers in the middle . Second it is going to be hard getting screws out when they fall thru the holes. But still a great table and awesome logo

+Brian Gray Thank you Brian. I made my own cmaps as you say, they will not work 360 degrees due to the torsion web. If the get in the way, i can use a magnet, or just flip the top and empty it like we used to do on the piggy bank when we where kids.thanks for watching

Nice work, looks good and has given me some ideas. Question: I've seen it mentioned that oils can get into the holes and make them too tight for the dogs, did you have this problem?

I see some Woodster equipment - any comments on what's good and what to avoid? And I guess many of us would appreciate a tour of your homemade table saw :)

+dalius98 As for the planer/jointer combo PT-85.....Avoid it, its no good. I am getting a real planer, well not a real, real planer, because that would be a floorstanding model, and out of my budget. But a quality lunchbox planer from Makita or Dewalt I think. In the mean time I butchered the woodStar and removed the jointer part of it, As I have a6" jointer. But you can get by with it on smaller project, but if you can getter a better one, I would advise you to. There has been some requests on the tablesaw, and I have promised a tour of it,. It will be up, but a little tom much going on right now

+Bellevue Woodshop Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, out of all Woodster things, planer/jointer combo is what I already have. I just have been wondering if you have experience with anything else, maybe the quality is not as poor. As for the table saw, there's really not much to choose from where I live, so I will make something myself - something "real", not a circular saw turned upside down. If your video comes out before the summer, it might be a great help.Thanks and have fun with your future projects!

+Bellevue Woodshop I came in here to ask the same question as +dalius98. I'm looking for a new planer/jointer combo myself, as I am not too happy with my Bosch SHO160/Mafell AD160. I think the Woodstar PT85 is the same as they sell at the Clas Ohlson and Jula stores under different brand names. Anyway, thanks for another great video! Greetings from a fellow Norwegian.

BTW - its not advisable to nail down your sacrificial top if you plan on using it for sawing on because it can trash your TCT blades. Nor should you glue it or else you have to throw away the complete assembly when done. You can buy soft aluminium hex cap head bolts on ebay and countersink them - if your saw blade hits them they cut easily without sparks or ruining it and then you can replace or flip the table top in future.

I do not plan to mar the surface with a saw or similar. If I use the tracksaw, I always put sacrificial stick underneath for the blade to dig into.

Så flott ut! Hamburgerdressing er mitt favoritt lim også! xD Litt synd med alt rommet under som ble kapslet inn. Lage en dør i en av sidene kansje?
@bellevuesnekkeri
@bellevuesnekkeri 9 жыл бұрын
