Looks great. Makes me want a CNC machine. One question though, why put holes in the top and bottom if your having the plywood underneath the bottom sheet? Does this not defeat the purpose and end up collecting a bunch of dust?
@bellevuesnekkeri8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt. The double side serves two purposes. First it gives the dogs extremely good support with 2 contact points on top and bottom. The ply underneath stops the dogs/pins from falling through. Second point is. When the first side gets beaten up, I can just flip the top and reveal a fresh side. Some dust and chip accumulation will happen, but a shopvac and compressed air will fix that if it becomes a problem. Thanks for watching and commenting

Great video. Well built. Two minor issues, first if you plan on using the festool clamps they won't fit in with the two slabs so close together and all the torsion dividers in the middle . I see some Woodster equipment - any comments on what's good and what to avoid? And I guess many of us would appreciate a tour of your homemade table saw :)
@bellevuesnekkeri9 жыл бұрын
+dalius98 As for the planer/jointer combo PT-85.....Avoid it, its no good. I am getting a real planer, well not a real, real planer, because that would be a floorstanding model, and out of my budget. But a quality lunchbox planer from Makita or Dewalt I think. In the mean time I butchered the woodStar and removed the jointer part of it, As I have a6" jointer. But you can get by with it on smaller project, but if you can getter a better one, I would advise you to. There has been some requests on the tablesaw, and I have promised a tour of it,. It will be up, but a little tom much going on right now
@dalius989 жыл бұрын
+Bellevue Woodshop Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, out of all Woodster things, planer/jointer combo is what I already have. I just have been wondering if you have experience with anything else, maybe the quality is not as poor. As for the table saw, there's really not much to choose from where I live, so I will make something myself - something "real", not a circular saw turned upside down. If your video comes out before the summer, it might be a great help.Thanks and have fun with your future projects!
@joebrewer60349 жыл бұрын
+Bellevue Woodshop I came in here to ask the same question as +dalius98. I'm looking for a new planer/jointer combo myself, as I am not too happy with my Bosch SHO160/Mafell AD160. I think the Woodstar PT85 is the same as they sell at the Clas Ohlson and Jula stores under different brand names. Anyway, thanks for another great video! Greetings from a fellow Norwegian.

@kickpublishing7 жыл бұрын
BTW - its not advisable to nail down your sacrificial top if you plan on using it for sawing on because it can trash your TCT blades. Nor should you glue it or else you have to throw away the complete assembly when done. You can buy soft aluminium hex cap head bolts on ebay and countersink them - if your saw blade hits them they cut easily without sparks or ruining it and then you can replace or flip the table top in future.
@bellevuesnekkeri7 жыл бұрын
I do not plan to mar the surface with a saw or similar. If I use the tracksaw, I always put sacrificial stick underneath for the blade to dig into.
