Here in the UK I would say a show car is one that is chromed, plated and polished within an inch of its life. They often go to shows on trailers and may even be set so low or have such small wheel to arch clearance that they can't really be driven. Their sole purpose is to be admired at shows and win the owner as many pots as possible. A cruiser is a car that is driven. Back in the late 1970,s I built a 32 rod that I drove around until the early 1990,s, when I sold it because of the growing family. I took it everywhere and people were fascinated by it and it was a real talking point. The problem with show cars is they are generally only seen by people who go to car shows whereas cruisers are seen by the general public.

Naw maybe in the UK but all my rides here in the US sport tons of chrome and polished out with custom paint. I even painted my pops police car black and white with gold Pearl. Polished mirror finish and all the police writing was in gold leaf

Heck yeah the tail light's came out really nice 👍🏽 I have a sheet of the red plastic. I thought about making a wooden mold for my brother's 64 fiat convetable. Just never got around to making the wooden mold because I know it's going to take some time to match what's broken on his. How Mike did his he did it really slick 👍🏽

you can carve out a negative mold of it and do the bake method also to create the lens . trim it to size. many aircraft homebuilders use that method for the wingtip lenses out of lexan.

It all depends on what you are into, a proper show car is literally just that, built for shows . Show cars have their own form and followers and can be works of art, my personal choice is a car is meant to be driven, nothing like seeing a cool cruiser on the road, that doesn't mean it still can't look immaculate it just takes a bit more to to keep them nice looking ( a lot of cleaning 😂 ! ) , but expect wear and rock chips and stuff as well. You can still have an immaculate car that is a driver, just depends how much time you want to spend keeping it like that, or if you don't want to just go the Patina look which is cool too !

I feel a show car is for people that pay a ton to a shop and more than likely are afraid to drive it. They enjoy trophies more than driving. A cruiser is more of a Lokochon that built their own ride and can fix it if it breaks. A homie that cruises can still show their ride too, They get out and smooth out the pavement when they can. Good question for Carapila he will give the best Lokochon answer!

A cruiser is for the driver to enjoy driving maybe have a little scratches and dings but as a whole it functions well. A show car is babied and not driven as much so you can say it’s only enjoyed by the eyes of others
