The bells of Chagford, Dartmoor, Devon

The Wednesday Evening Ringers Association April 2017 Meeting: Chagford, Devon.
Footage shows rising 8-bells in peal, followed by a selection of Call-Changes on this recently refurbished Taylor vintage and concludes with lowering 8-bells in peal. These bells are definitely worth a visit and well done to everyone associated with this re-hang!

These are up there with St Austell and Dodderhill all 18cwt 8's, i have not rung here since before the restoration but been told they need to be a tad clearer in the ringing room, if they can get that sorted then they will be extraordinary!!

They were good when I rang there in the late 1970's. The recent work has evidently turned them from just good into something really special. Usual high quality ringing that we have come to expect too!

Rang a peal of Rutland there in 1963 with RCK, remember them as pretty good then. They sound super now.

They just rang now for about 30mins from about 3pm to 3:30pm I wonder if it was a special occasion, how often do the bells ring like this in the week?

Could be for a service, could’ve been for a Wedding. It also could’ve been a Quater Peal (non stop ringing for 30-45 mins, roughly a quater of a peal which is nearer 3 hours)
