Just bought a Transit backpack from with discount. I was little frustrated when I saw the release video, but then happy when you said it doesn’t fit big shoes. I’m able to fit my 14 shoes horizontally without issues on the transit backpack 😅
@PallasPersephone2 ай бұрын
This is basically the backpack I wanted out of the Bellroy Transit backpack though still no lift-loaders or hip belt. I found the 28L Transit almost too heavy to carry comfortably when fully loaded plus the internal waterbottle pocket ate into the main space. This fixes a lot of problems that bag has, including the sensible additions of a side handle and the luggage pass thru. I'd be hesitant to get the 38L without the extra support but the 30L could probably be a much better alternative to the 28L Transit.

I would be worried about the attachment points in the bottom of the straps failing over time. Not a bag for me, because of this and the internal organization, but a step in the good direction from Bellroy.

To me, an ideal travel backpack must have 2 water external water bottle pockets - 1 for a water bottle, 1 for a small umbrella. A built-in rain cover that comes out (like a hiking backpack) would be excellent, but at the very least, a way to grab an umbrella without having to unzip and dig one out, in the rain ...
@kurtthecat39952 ай бұрын
Travel packs now a days must have a way for external zippers locked.
@mikeleone13472 ай бұрын
@@kurtthecat3995 Even if the zippers themselves don't have a locking mechanism, you can buy zipper "locks", that are really just meant to slow down anyone trying to open the zipper, so they don't actually "lock", the just serve as a bridge holding both zippers together.
@kurtthecat39952 ай бұрын
@@mikeleone1347 Actually that's what I meant, two zippers that can be somehow secured together or a zipper that can be secured to loop. I see so many backpacks and bags with a single external zippered pocket that can't be secured and the youtuber casually mentions putting their wallet and passport in these pockets. For me not having ways to secure zippers is an auto-deal-breaker. One trip into any subway system with unsecured zippers, there's a good chance you'll be without your wallet and passport when you leave.
@MrFowl4 күн бұрын
If both sides fully zip (like this one), just leave anything you need to take out in between the two mesh panels so you can access it by just opening the main compartment, not inside the mesh pockets.

Great review! Personally, I am fine with putting my water bottle inside the pack. It looks better, imo. I often need to open a bag to get a wallet or other item, so simply using a zipper to access water is no problem. Looks sleeker and less touristy, too. Definitely thinking about getting this one!

No (removable) hip belt is a no go for me. I can pack a 30L heavy due to all my tech and absolutely need the option for belt support. This was close to perfect except for that. Why don't these companies make an optional removable hip belt combo sling bag? There is so much multi purpose use that way. Thule Aion backpacks have that and its so versatile. You have an optional day sling but also a hip belt for backpack support and one can remove it for short excursions. Seems like an obvious selling point to me

@ohmyrufiohhh1303Ай бұрын
@@misstubbie1313 it’s not the fabric I hated. It was the construction of the bag itself. The straps were so awful. They kept sliding down past my shoulders for some reason. I get it’s a lite packable style backpack, but it looked awful and super flimsy if it wasn’t at least halfway packed out. Anything you put in it will sink down the center of the bag which causes an appearance of a huge dent into the bag. I’ve lent it to other people as well of different body sizes and they all reported the same issues.

Fail on a few points, the color needs to change, the straps need to have a panel that goes over them. Look at Osprey Farpoint 40, then improve on that.
