I have the 9L version of this sling what I did was since I also own a peak design sling, I pulled out one of their origami dividers, folded it so it creates a T shape, and stuck that inside the bag for my camera. It serves two purposes: dividing the space into two to separate my camera with the other stuff in the main compartment, and then serving as an extra layer of padding. The way the PD divider lays in there, there’s a good 3” to both sides that lay flat at the bottom helping with impact when setting down the bag. It’s definitely a work-around, but has worked wonderfully for me in the past two years I’ve owned it. If you have the divider that has a small sleeve for SD cards, you’ve added yourself an extra use as well.

Oh and just to add to your list of pros and cons: I really like the strap webbing they selected, I have several other slings and I find that the really smooth seat belt type webbing always made my sling slide down to the side of my body which is typically where I don’t want it. The webbing of the Bellroy sling is soft and smooth but has just enough texture to not slide around as easily. It will if you run or move around too aggressively, but walking around, it seems to stay put better than most. One con I can add is that the buckles, while convenient on both sides, are small and fiddly. It ALWAYS takes more than one try to buckle back in, whereas on my other slings that have larger buckles, I can unbuckle and re-buckle in one go. It’s not a deal breaker, but I find being able to do it accurately every time encourages me taking off the sling in that manner, as opposed to trying to get the straps up and over the head, sometimes knocking your hat off… it’s not the most elegant way to take it off, let’s put it that way.

Completely agree! I use this sling daily to go out and take portraits. I've tried SOOOO many different bags & slings, but at the end of the day I *always* choose this one. It's basically a staple in my wardrobe at this point!

I love this sling and the 6L size it’s almost perfect but I agree with you, I wish they put a back pocket like the one they did with their venture chimera sling 😢

DESY!! Holy Jesus man- this video IS IT!!! I have been agonizing over an EDC bag that could fit my A7RV+24f/2.8G combo… and your section on the camera fit guide was GOLD!!! Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into your videos, you helped me make an educated buying decision on a bag! (Sounds silly I know, but hey I know a lot of people can relate!!!) I hope blessings come your way brother!

Another great review! I use slings and also love to carry my X-T5 with me, so your reviews with camera fitting really helps me a lot!! I've bought this Bellroy Venture 6L and the Alpaka Vertex pouch based on your earlier reviews and love them both! One cons you didn't mention regarding this Bellroy Venture 6L is that it doesn't have a grab handle that something makes it hard to grab tho.
@DesmondCheng3 ай бұрын
oh yes i forgot to mention that! Yeah they need to update this sling with a grab handle! I just posted a new video today about the ReWork Toshi Sling 5L. It's pretty good, but not perfect

Nice review Desy. Bellroy should release a camera version of this bag, like the 10L one they have. The collapsible dividers would be a great addition, allowing for better segmentation within the main compartment.

They already have :)

Hi Desy! Yeah I absolutely love this bag. Of all the bags I own, this is the one I went back to time and time again. I ultimately made this my go-to bag for daily use going so far as to buying a second one (I'm a sucker for olive green so I had to have it). I did recently jump on the Orbit Key Kickstarter for their Urban Sling Plus and looking forward to trying that one out.

oh nice! when do u get the orbit key sling plus?
@genefactor0073 ай бұрын
@@DesmondCheng Hello again! :) I got it a few days ago and I really like it. In a lot of ways it reminds me of our favorite Bellroy but with some little extras.
@DesmondCheng3 ай бұрын
@@genefactor007 which one would u prefer if u had to choose only one?
@genefactor0073 ай бұрын
@@DesmondCheng Oh wow, Desmond, that's a good question! Initially I would say the Bellroy but that's only because I had mine for so long. Of all my bags, it was the only one I bought multiples of (purchased two 9L slings, one in black and another in olive green -- my current favorite color). There's just something to Bellroy's simple design. However I do feel, in some ways, the Orbit Key Urban Sling is something of an upgrade in a way. I like the inclusion of a back zippered pocket for things like your wallet and passport. I also like the way the urban sling's strap is connected to the bag. The Bellroy's strap is connected to the bag in a way that sorta pinches the sides closed. So depending on how you access the bag, you can expect it not to fully open. I hope I'm explaining this right. 😅 I also feel the Orbit Sling sits better against my body thus making it a tad more comfortable. The Bellroy is a really comfortable bag but the Orbit Sling is a tad more comfortable in my opinion and that could be due to the strap's connection points. I'm sorry, I know my reply is really long so I'll close with this. Looking at your video again I think you'll like the Orbit Sling only because it seem to answer every dislike you had in your video. Clint over at The Perfect Bag did a video on the Orbit Sling. Give it a looksy. I'm curious to know what you think.

Only two cons for me. The main and absolutely must have is the back zipper pocket. Any modern sling bag needs to have a secure and separate zipper sleeve to store your passport, wallet and cash. Yes I know I can use the internal zipper pocket but for me the main compartment is the most used/open/close pocket and I do not want to keep my valuable there. The front pocket is not very useful except for some very small item. The second con is the open space on the either side even when the zipper is closed. Forget about using it in the rain.

Hey Desy! Great video! Do you think this bag could hold a Canon 5DSR with a 24-70? I like the size of this bag mare than the 9L for day-to-day use, but I am not sure it could hold my camera.
@DesmondCheng2 ай бұрын
hey, i think it should. at the end i showed the canon r6 with the 24-105m which is a smidge smaller. but unfortunatley i dont have the exact combo to test fit it to tell u exactly. but i think it will just 'barely' fit

Considering all the dislikes you’ve listed, it seems to me that the Aer Day sling 3 is the one you are looking for.

i had the day sling 3 max, and it was great but the opening was a bit big. some of my things would 'spill' out. also it doesnt have the padded bottom which i love for my cameras!

Should I buy this, Ulanzi PB008 or Aer Day Sling 3?

if u need to carry extra lenses then get the ulanzi. but i like this one because its very light weight and packable. day sling 3 doesnt have much padding
