🚨UPDATE: *Thanks to everyone* who's commented that TomToc has improved their design and now has a well-contained strap slack-management system so there's no more flopping around of the strap's end (if you get the updated version). Also, there are now new colorways available in some countries including white, a two-tone green, and a two-tone grey at the time of writing this comment. This, to me, makes the TomToc even more compelling. Being in Canada, I still don't have access to the other colorways, but as soon as I do, will be picking up the two-tone green one.

In an odd coincidence I was actually opening a package direct from China with the TomToc when your video appeared in my feed. I got it at a very small portion to even your low-cost listed and as I'm definitely form over function and quite often very frugal and I'm more than happy with my purchase. I have a Bellroy Weekender, I do like their products. But for a crossbody or sling I like the wider strap and my "FoB" came with the redesigned strap. One thing that's often not mentioned as it is always assumed that all tech travelers are male is that I happen to be female .. and I'm fine with the Tomtoc aesthetic. It's a utilitarian bag, it's not meant to be "pretty", although it is quite handsome! Great video, thanks for the review!

Well done on the video! I wanted the TomToc sling, but I wound up getting their CroxBody EDC Sling Bag because I wanted to carry my larger tablet and Bluetooth keyboard, as well. I may go back and buy the sling for lighter days because they have a promotion where you can save money on purchasing 2 items and I'd like to get a pouch for some accessories I like to carry.

After watching this video and your standalone TomToc review I went that route for my four trips this year. With TomToc updating the strap so it works like the Bellroy and new colours, I grabbed the Inky Blue (dark blue with bone/white) I'm super stoked for it to arrive on Monday so I can sort my EDC and maybe work the bag into my daily items.

For everyone looking for a solid sling, take a look at the bigger version ( 14,25 "x 8,66 "x 3,94 ", volume: 7L ) of the TomToc EDC sling. It has much better straps and is not to big and in my eyes perfect. I have been carrying the TomToc EDC Sling for 5 months now, it has been my favorite way of carrying my EDC. In the main pocket i carry my Maxpedition fatty... its fit perfect. I have a thin bottle in the inside bottle holder, and the front pocket has enough storage for phone, keys, wallet, flashlight etc.

I use the Bellroy Sling Lite. It‘s a different material, more like outdoor jacket fabric. The size is kinda in between these two Bellroys. You might want to check this one out. I personally love it. And it has anchor points 😉

A little late since this video has been around for a year. But I've watched tons of "waist pack", "fanny pack", "sling" videos and NOBODY every tell us the Max Length of the strap! I'm a big man...not obese or round...I'm big. I'm 6'4" with a 58" chest and a 44" waist. A lot of waist packs have straps that max out at 38-40". And Sling Bags likewise have a length that literally barely gets under my armpit. If you're going to give us the WxHxD of the bag, and all these detailed specs and number of pockets...why not start with "If you're waist is bigger than .... just move on. The strap maxes at 40."

Your flip open locking blade knife is not permitted in England. Nor are Leatherman type knives unless you have a specific reason (say craftsman who needs it to work). UK knife law allows you to carry non-locking pocket knives with a blade length up to 3 inches (7.62 cm) without any need for a valid reason. You are allowed to carry a knife which exceeds these guidelines in public, but please remember: you will do need a good reason to carry it.

The mini doesn't comfortably fit an iphone pro max in the front pocket. A dealbreaker for me since the alternative is putting it in the main compartment with my keys. 7L it is.

Another great video! Tip: You can fold the flap of the tomtoc and you use it as a standing office organizer on your desk. :) i love it. It is an underrated functionality. They sell it in white as well! Currently waiting for the delivery of my tomtoc g sling! The only thing i wish the tomtoc sling can do is having the sling removed and just use it as a bag organizer and put it inside my bag. I can still do it but its more complicated. The g sling has a removable sling! #Excited i hope you can review it too!

the bellroy venture sling series have larger zipper entrance. the 2nd compartment in the 9L sling does have extra organization pockets like the mini sling.

Loking a bit more traditional looking alternative to the TomToc, and wanting to have the straps at 90degrees, I found the Eastpack Cnnct Ty bag, which is great. The materials feel pemium, it's super roomy, the colors are professional looking and it really comfortable to wear and looks the part. Great as a personal item and to carry around everything I need.

Its not that the Tomtoc is surprisingly inexpensive with the functionality it provides, it’s just that Bellroy is unsurprisingly expensive to begin with. Tho I must say… I do like the material they use on their products. Bought the mini sling and my only regret is I should’ve gone for the regular one just for the capacity.

Great review, I have a bellroy sling lite that I love and was thinking of getting a mini or regular in premium for a less sporty-looking bag. I did not know that the opening was different on their non-lite slings. The lite main compartment zipper is straight down the middle and allows one side of the opening to completely expand to the maximum size, which makes getting things in and out so much easier and the bag way more functional to me, it looks like their venture slings share this design but not the premium look so it looks like I have some thinking to do.

Slings are good to protect pickpocketing. But i lost the whole bag 😭. I had bell roy regular size. So true about the main compartment zipper. I always carry umbrella with me. Extra effort to put it and take it out. I miss the magnetic clip and the strap adjustment. My sling was so good. Gonna about to give tomtoc a try and found this video. Will order now. I trust you.

Tomtoc doesn’t fit a lefty - which is a complete dealbreaker for me. I was pleasantly surprised at Bellroy though! The aesthetics are clear enough on screen but I can’t stress enough how good it feels in the hand. What a relief amongst the onslaught of cheap materials.

For info: just bought a tomtoc, the strap does not dangle anymore, you can adjust it like the bellroy. It is a closed loop, didn't even know it was like that before..

Got the larger bellroy a few years ago because of this video. I load it out similarly and put medkit items in instead of a benchmade. I find I use the polysporin the most. But it's good to know I'm ready in case I wipe out on my bike. And there's a tourniquet in case I find someone bleeding out.
