This is my husbands account, but I just have to say this... I began listening to Tori at the age of 10... my mother bought me the tape..(whatta badass mother) And even at 10I was totally entranced... so much so that years later my mother and i tore apart her piano, modified it with 2 different things... we put those floor protectors, like the kind u get to prevent scratching on ur floor,... and mounted them to the hammers of my piano to mimic the sound used in this song... worked excellent....

And through the life force and there goes her friend On her Nishiki it's out of time And through the portal they can make amends Hey would you say whatever we're blanket friends Can't stop what's coming Can't stop what's on its way And through the walls they made their mudpies I've got your mind I said She said I've your voice I said you don't need my voice girl You have your own But you never thought it was enough of So they went years and years Like sisters blanket girls Always there through that and this There's nothing we cannot ever fix I said Can't stop what's coming Can't stop what's on its way Bells and footfalls and soldiers and dolls Brothers and lovers she and I were Now she seems to be sand under his shoes There's nothing I can do Can't stop what's coming Can't stop what's on its way And now I speak to you are you in there You have her face and her eyes But you are not her And we go at each other like blank ettes Who can't find their thread and their bare Can't stop loving Can't stop what is on its way And I see it coming And it's on its way

My sister introduced me to this album when I was just a child. I must have been in 4th or 5tj grade. She was very troubled. She jumped off a bridge to her death in March, and I'm pretty much ruined. This is the closest I think you can get to a visual representation of my sorrow.

She said that she never fully learned how to play it exactly as she did on the recording which is why the recording is so unique. Her boyfriend/producer was playing with the sound of her piano, hence the muted, almost toy piano tones. She woke and improvised this piece as you hear it here. He just so happened to have hit record and this was captured. Lots of magick in this one.

Love it, captures how I feel over the loss of a friend
@ElizaBlue-o1i5 ай бұрын
I think Tori would love that visual - you did a great job of capturing the feeling of the song. ❤ How I think about this song has changed over the years. 'Now she seems to be sand under his shoes. There's nothing I can do.' It's a terrible thing to watch a girl you love sacrifice herself, her happiness, her sanity and almost her life to an unworthy man, and know there's nothing you can do but hope she gets out in time, and be there to help pick up the pieces if she does. I've experienced that from the perspective of the friend watching it unfold, and thank god, she did get out in the end. But I think about all those women who never do. The ghostly atmosphere of this song makes me wonder if their own spirits feel the same way - watching powerless as they become sand under some man's shoes. Imagine.

@lucybells0 Bells For Her is about Beenie, who was in an abusive relationship with a man at the time of Tori's writing UTP. Tori tried to get Beenie to see that, but that backfired and so they had a falling out. When you think about abusive relationships, you often see women sticking up for the abusive men. We can't recognise them. Hence "you have her face and her eyes, but you are not her."

I wish I could pick both "incredible" and "classic". I would send this to Tori, if you haven't already.This is what artists live for, for people to interpret a work of theirs for themselves, and I believe you have nailed the interpretation, both visually and "the vibe." I firmly believe Tori would be moved to tears by this. I agree with the previous posts that say this should be the official video. Congrats, and thank you for sharing your vision.Beautiful.
