I am a runner and I live in the city. I run through central City and the Upper 9th ward 2 of the most dangerous hoods in America. And I use Bellybands. I am running 10 -18 miles and IWB gave me blood blisters. One note they are washable! I recommend in the sink not the machine. And a couple of time of use it will need it. That also holds sweat on you gun. So you will need to surface lube regularly.

Would definitely recommend using a kydex trigger guard with a soft holster like this. I've been able to pull the trigger through all of the belly bands I've tried. Super inexpensive add on you can buy off of amazon that doesn't change the comfort of the band, but makes carrying in it much safer.
@BurninatorTheTrogdor Жыл бұрын
This is very good to know! I wonder if you can make it stay in the band when drawing. I know some of them have a cord or lanyard so maybe you have to add a sweep downward when you draw to clear.

I've taken firearm classes (beyond what the state requires) and both instructors were very against any soft holster. It may be a very rare thing, but when you use something this soft, there's the chance a branch or anything pointy (including your finger if you go to pull up your pants) can push the trigger and cause a negligent discharge. Please consider using a belly band that holds a kydex shell. It's safer and you still get the great comfort and concealment of a belly band. I carry my G27 in an Alien Gear holster with their belly band for working at my shop, but any brand that has a hard shell for the pistol will be safe. You get all the comfort, with none of the worry. Stay safe!
@TruthFreedomKingdom3 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree. It is soft but not as soft as you think. I have no fear of an accidental discharge. Remember, this was developed by people who know better.
@sundaynightdrunk3 жыл бұрын
@@TruthFreedomKingdom Fair enough. I showed it (the same one, which is why I watched your video) to the instructor in my first set of classes (I was wearing it) and he told me to throw it out, so I just thought I'd get that advice out there. I no longer carry in anything that doesn't cover the trigger with a solid material. For people who carry with a pistol with a safety or carry in condition 3, I get it, but with a Glock I feel a lot safer, and it's safer to re-holster. Belly bands are great, but I prefer one with a kydex shell.

GREAT video Lewis, thank you for taking the time to share ! I recently got my CC permit here in Massachusetts, and have not found a holstering system YET that works for me. AND, I have been limited by that to what type of gun I would purchase because of the WEIGHT, not the actual gun I want to carry. Like you (I'm a few years older than you young man, 64 years young, lol...) I'm a shorts and t-shirt guy. So even my LCR .22 magnum revolver at 18.70 ounces loaded would drag down my cargo shorts, or sweatpants (coaching gear) as well as my P238 .380 Sig Sauer at about the same weight. SO, yes I just ordered a Comfort Tec belly band system, hope it does the trick ! IF it does, my next handgun purchase will be a S&W Model 60 at 24 ounces (as a child of the '60s. LOVE revolvers !) or a Ruger SP 101 at 26 ounces which I wouldn't buy ( but I WANTED to !) because of the weight ! So, an extra 6,7 or 8 ounces IS a big deal carrying IWB in shorts / sweatpants ( I'm an ice hockey coach, and yes I carry ON the ice...) and t-shirt. I'll check out your other videos, again, thanks ! I slide the gun just behind my hip (right side). Doesn't print at all as the shirt hangs loose down your back, unless you lean forward a bit, at which point someone behind you may see the gun print a bit. A person in front of you will not see it print at all. I ceased carrying autos (1911A1 Commander, Springfield XD 357 Sig) as the rectangular shape prints very clearly. I now carry a S & W 66 4" revolver with smooth wooden grips, as it does not print at all and is easier to carry than the autos. I use Buffalo Bore 38 Spl 158 gr LSWC-HP standard pressure as it hits nearly 1000 fps from the 4" barrel and hits like a freight train. The Buffalo Bore 38 SPL +P 158 gr LSWC-HP is over kill at almost 1170 fps from the 4" barrel, hitting almost as hard as a 357 Mag. I carry a speed loader and two speed strips for reloads, although the first reload is the bobbed hammer Taurus 856 just behind my left hip. The Taurus 856 has Crimson Trace Laser grips, and I'm going to soon put the Crimson Trace Laser grips on the S & W 66 too.

@@genxer711 I've worn this kind of holster for years. Trust me. The safety of the trigger is the most protected part. Brother, I think I'm well educated on firearms and their capabilities. I'm not pulling the vet card, but yeah, I've had extensive training while I was in as well as out of the military. I dont trust my life with garbage, and this holster certainly isn't that. I'd recommend buying one and trying it out for yourself if a Marine's word just isn't good enough🤷♂️

Tie your shorts tighter at the band so it won't sag.

This being able to pull the trigger through belly band material isn`t something you would do when carrying unless you have a finger you just can`t control its groping habit.

Whenever I'm wearing gym clothes, i just wear my gun under my shorts with a belt.

The belly band is way more comfortable than this option. You should give it and try and see.
