Malia knew about the prescribed drugs, but only reported her because Malia likes power, and was pissed Hanna didn’t immediately agree to what she wanted. She was power hungry long ago, she hooked up with a chef who have a high rank on the ship to a bosun who she wanted to be and played them both. Now she is a bosun, who know what or WHO she done for that, dates another chef and then brings him in after the chef was tossed. She definitely slept her way up to get her opportunities.

I completely agree, and it's the same reason I hate Captain Sandy. She hates Hannah and had been just looking for a reason. Just look at how she treated Conrad the second after he started dating Hannah, in comparison to how she treated Joao who at the time was leading on two different women from the crew. Just like at the end of last season, Sandy is practically crying with Joao (who no question works hard but has been demeaning to people at times like Hannah) and then tells Hannah that she doesn't have a "Passion" for yachting. Sandy has never given Hannah respect from day one. Give me a break....Malia was with Hannah when she had the panic attack. She knew about the valium, and just decided to pull it out and take a picture during a time when she was pissed at Hannah, when it would work in her favor and get rid of her. Malia just had a way of talking about everyone and stupid facial expressions this entire season......For someone who talks so much about how she came from the lowest totem pole of Deck Crew to Bosun she sure seemed power hungry. NTM Hannah is a huge part of what made the show so entertaining/great the last 3 seasons. I'm not saying Hannah is perfect or couldn't be a b*tch at times, but her job deff isn't easy and she never got a fair shake from Captain/Malia etc....It's Bullsh*t!

I am SO done with below deck med! Sandy knew from Conrad's season that Hannah had bad panic attacks but now, all of a sudden she cannot trust her to not have one in the middle of the night??? Sandy only brought Hannah back so she could bully her! She has ALWAYS had it in for Hannah! Hannah failed in reporting the valium to begin with, yes, but Sandy walking in on her while she was using the restroom, and coming up to her on the dock while she was speaking on the phone to her boyfriend was BAD! And Malia... she knew that Hannah had the valium the night of her panic attack but was only concerned enough to report it to Sandy when she needed Hannah's room for her and her boyfriend! Snake is right!!! Go through my purse without my permission, little girl, you will have a lawsuit on your hands!

Regardless of how things went down...the minute she “had to report it” she lost all leadership points. A leader would have gone to Hannah, told her what she found and tell her I have to report it...let’s go together to the Captain. Instead she was a coward and phoned it in - anonymously!. Malia setting Hannah up for using medically prescribed Diazepam, when she’s seen her have a panic attack first hand (in the middle of the night), is absolutely disgusting behavior. Captain Sandy is just as bad, for not educating herself or seeking to understand Hannah’s medical condition. There are employment laws that protect people like Hannah. Malia and Sandy’s action is disgusting, unsupportive and they should be fired from the show. They should also issue a public apology to Hannah. Edit: Hannah has a prescription. In Australia, prescriptions are printed by Doctors on a piece of paper (PBS/RPBS) which patients take to a pharmacy for dispensing. Unless you have repeats, the prescription it retained by the pharmacist. Also, and as others have pointed out already, the other side of the Diazepam box had a sticker with Hannah's dosage info (which is NOT a prescription). Finally, Hannah mentions during the episode that she has a prescription, she just physically did not have it on her person when Sandy asked for it - which is understandable as it would only work in Australia, so no point bringing the prescription with you to the Med.

Kadee Mallory You clearly don’t understand Diazepam or the low dose prescribed to Hannah. A large number of high functioning individuals across a variety of industry sectors take this medication, it has no impact on their work performance and is not a requirement to disclose. The stigma attached to this kind of medication needs to be debunked. There is a vast amount of misinformation on this subject. I implore you to seek to understand instead of supporting a boat captain who clearly mismanaged her position and has compromised decision making.

I think what Malia did was done out of spite. If she was that concerned about it she should have talked to Hannah or Captain Sandy Before the incident with the bunks. That was a shady move and makes her look like a kiss ass and a bad person. I agree that she should have just told Captain Sandy because those are the rules and of course they want to to make sure they know any possible side effects, the sad part is that she is already being judged for taking a prescription med for something related to mental health and that makes people not want to tell anyone because not everyone understands how anxiety and panic attacks affect a person and how much a prescription can help this person and not affect their judgment or working abilities. She may not have been hired, even. I can see both sides, but I did not respect Malia's motives. She is that typical kiss ass that will do anything to get her way.

Peppi the Tibetan Terrier I completely disagree with you. I know this medication well, as I took it for years. Firstly, Hannah did not have a prescription. In The US a prescription would be printed on the box in sticker form. In Europe it is possible to buy it over the counter without a prescription, I know this because I have done so. If You were paying attention, Hannah confessed to Captain Sandy that she did not have a prescription, which lead to her dismissal. If she had, she would have been disciplined for not following rules, but had kept her job. She went on to lie to other crew members, when she said it was prescribed. No one is judging Hannah for taking Or needing this medication. She is being judged for having been a professional in the boating industry, fully aware of protocol and ignoring it at the possible risk of her other crew members and the guests who pay hundreds of thousands to be on the boat and protected should things go badly. I was on a boat in France for two weeks last year and in the event of emergency I would not have felt safe knowing the crew was on Valium. Or on a flight with a captain or steward on mood altering medication. Either way, had she been prescribed this medication and followed rules that are in place for good reason, none of this would have happened. You are not Captain Sandy or Malia, you are not in charge of the safety of a large vessel at sea with dozens of lives. You are clearly missing the point. Separate reality TV from the reality and you will have your answer. There are many jobs in certain industry’s where people are drug tested and would never be able to preform jobs if on Valium, prescribed or not. That’s reality. I’m happy to give you a list for your education, should you need it. Being on a crew at sea is one of them.

Say it Ain’t so Hannah is Australian, and they have different prescriptions versus the USA. Hannah confirmed that she has a prescription. She did not have it on her person when discussing with Sandy and had not advised Sandy of it. She still had the prescription. Watch the episode properly and learn.

i do remember hana taking Valium in a previous season , so it wasn't a shock other then her getting called to the principals office. maybe it was cause she didn't disclose that she brought it onboard without the cap knowing and controlling it. id need something to when your in charge and having to deal with this crap. really not writing down orders and the captain saying to the chief crew that you do what everyone else wants your not important. i like captain sandy but this was not the chef asking to change rooms it was a underling going over hanas' head and threatinging to take the chef with her!!!!

I had a lot of respect for Malia previously. She is young, female, and attractive in a male-dominated industry. I know she had her differences with Hannah previously. Both Malia and Bugsy are always ranting about professionalism, rank, etc...then they mean-girled on Hannah every chance they got. Bugsy's cheap stunt with sharing Hannah's messages is one example. Hannah's judgment may not as always be perfect, but Malia's overt mentioning of Hannah's anxiety attack to Sandy was cheap, childish, and obvious. And while I respect Sandy, she can be as gossipy and immature as her crew. She was well aware Hannah suffered from anxiety. For her to stigmatize it and factor it in with the drugs (a completely understandable grounds for termination, but a separate issue) is distasteful, wrong, and would be grounds for a lawsuit in another industry. As for Malia...totally lost respect. Snitching about the drugs was her job. Bullying everyone into switching roommates to accommodate her sex life was not. Between Sandy's obvious crush on Malia (yeah, I said it), Bugsy's lack of respect, and Malia's backstabbing, Hannah never stood a chance. Bad look on all of them, but Malia in particular.

The last few years, the quality of the adventures have gone down hill, that falls on her shoulders. Hiring, is an issue, letting a bosun manipulate her at every corner is laughable. Malia got kiko fired so her out of work boyfriend could get a job, and he didn’t kill it, and he didn’t get fired. The mark of a great leader is taking the cards you have and making a great team, no one wants to work fir her accept desperate people. I’m fully behind Hanna for the way she was treated, thank goddess the show will show that she forgot to declare a few pills and weed! I would rather see a person smoke a joint instead of getting g drunk, alcohol is a horrible drug, and they promote it non stop. Malia, took that picture before the whole cabin debacle. Hannah’s refusal to go along with the couples hooking up in their own cabins, was the reason Malia sent the picture to Sandy. Why didn’t she bring the Valium and other stuff in the picture SOONER!! Because she wanted to hold it to screw Hannah ( Hannah was wrong for not having a Dr’s note) If she was truly acting in the best interest in the boat, she would have brought it to Sandys attention Sooner. When captain sandy surprised hannah at the toilet she asked her if she had an prescription.. She clearly said No.. and of course she also could not hand any over.. At 14:00 She tells bugs that she has valium prescribed. At 14:30 she tells Malia that she has a prescription (a blunt lie).. When Malia asked her if the drugs where registered to the boat.. hannah lied again: I cant remember.. WTF and she plays the victim: on this ship you get fired for having anxiety attacks (typical twist of the truth, she would never got fired without the drugs) She then calls his boyfriend and tells the same twisted reality: They fired me because I had an anxiety attack.. She did not even mention the drugs.. This is the classic narc avoiding any consequences.. I know that everyone hate Malia, and I really dont like her.. But she did her job.. it is her duty to report drugs on board..

I’m surprised at the amount of people here who are missing the point. It doesn’t matter how we feel about Sandy, Malia, or Hannah. There is protocol and rules for good reason, end of story. I am a rule breaker by nature, but even I can see this for what it is. Whether you pay hundreds of thousands to be on a boat or a few hundred for a flight or $25 for an Uber....Professionals that are responsible for the safety of their coworkers, crew, and passengers cannot be on mood altering substances period. Some people cannot preform certain jobs if they are needing to be on these medications, and that’s ok, no one should be judged for needing to take medication. But when you dismiss regulations and rules that are in place for the safety of others, you are being selfish. There was no reason for her to ignore these rules other than she didn’t have a prescription in the first place. Which makes it drug abuse. Hannah put herself at risk of being fired, and she was for good reason. No one else did that to her. She also put her entire crew and guest at risk, which is wrong. She is a seasoned Stew and she knew better. This has nothing to do with women supporting women, give me a break. People should not have to support those who are wrong, this has nothing to do with gender equality.

As someone who loves the show and watches it Captain Sandy. Did not have a problem Hannah as a person what she had a problem with from my own perception of watching the show it’s a lack of willingness to lead and teach after all that it was with the chief steward supposed to do I have noticed over the years with Hannah she gets really frustrated and angry when the third stew which is an entry-level position Has no interest in teaching which is part of her job

Malia is brilliant. What Captain wouldn’t want her... great management style for her a woman of her age. Same with Bugsie...great work ethic and awesome management skills...Jessica... great...works super well under good manager in organized structure. Capt. Sandy? 10++++ Hanna was good ...but so burnt out,,,,no joy...no passion...a drag down for all staff. Not her fault... she had a good run but just at the party too long.....but even began this season in the negative space... That job would burn anyone out after too long of a time. Deck crew, cabin crew, chief.....the unreal expectations of some guests would guarantee. It is a profession that can go from joy to drudgery very fast..... salty something about Captain Sandy?? Love most everything about her except she does not have firm boundaries with the Client/staff relationship. She does not gently & diplomatically educate her guests to treat her staff with the same respect she expects them to give each other and the guests.To respect them as professionals or human beings. She demands professionalism from them...but that is a two way street she does not fully understand....yet... Apart from that Captain Sandy is right up there. I am VERY fussy who I will sail with. What Skipper that I will entrust with my life on the ocean..I’d sail into anything anywhere with Captain Sandy, Malia & Bugsie...
