I am a below the knee amputee of almost 3 years and I'm pretty salty at the medical industry. Tell me why I am just finding this out? ON MY OWN! Why did no professional in this field tell me this before I couldn't wear my prosthetic leg for 2 weeks?

You are so right! I asked my prosthetist several times if I could try liner liners for sweat. He finally gave me some that roll down and are uncomfortable. I’ve heard of The Underliner-thank you for showing one!!

Im just 3 months post op and have my prosthetic leg, I've just got my leg home and am walking really well! I was given some of these Grey socks to help with sweat! There great hay! I am surprised you weren't given any when you got your prosthetic leg. I am an elective below knee amputee too! Motorcycle accident as well.

I think the reason that happened is because you are sinking too low into your socket. I have never heard of "end bearing" but you might need a new socket if your getting rug burns. Your limb does shrink initially and if it shrinks to the point you are wearing up to 10 ply liners it's time for a new socket.

My husband got those with his Prosthetic. Others that knew us told us, “wear the liners!!! Crazy you haven’t been told this UNTIL now🤔 Also, you can order them or get them at a local Prosthetic shop.

@@wadehamlin No. he walks without assistance NOW! It took a few months with a walker THEN a walking cane. He’s back to climbing ladders and getting on roofs💪🏼

Hello, could it be that your leg got sore because there was too much movement in the shaft (rubbing)? Although you have quite a long stump, I suggest you check out an active vacuum system (e.g. Otto Bock's Harmony) and use a kneecap instead the one with the ribs you are using right now. Having a stronger vacuum leads to absolutely no rubbing in the shaft, which usually is the cause of blisters (if that is the correct word), which I had a lot of in earlier years. I believe that a stronger vacuum would save most of your problems, because I did not have any blister within the last 10 years. Best, Markus (from Austria)

4:52 am I just recently lost my ankle due to to low grade osteosarcoma and I’m going through the shitty process of trying to make my prosthetic work and I’m watching this trying to figure out what im supposed to feel because I can’t even wear my prosthetic for more then 2 hours and can’t walk more then 200 feet without my limb hurting like hell.

Took me 9.5 mos to heal my skin. Just got my pros leg 2 days ago. I'm using a walker for 2 hrs up to 3x day. I don't dare to walk when my hubs is not home 😢 He's gone a lot. I just wanna walk & drive.
