About MLB.com: Former Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League Club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's Internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the Internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live full length MLB game over the Internet when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com also provides fans with a stable of Club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, that deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.
Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. The American League consists of the following teams: Baltimore Orioles; Boston Red Sox; Chicago White Sox; Cleveland Indians; Detroit Tigers; Houston Astros; Kansas City Royals; Los Angeles Angels ; Minnesota Twins; New York Yankees; Oakland Athletics; Seattle Mariners; Tampa Bay Rays; Texas Rangers; and Toronto Blue Jays. The National League, originally founded in 1876, consists of the following teams: Arizona Diamondbacks; Atlanta Braves; Chicago Cubs; Cincinnati Reds; Colorado Rockies; Los Angeles Dodgers; Miami Marlins; Milwaukee Brewers; New York Mets; Philadelphia Phillies; Pittsburgh Pirates; San Diego Padres; San Francisco Giants; St. Louis Cardinals; and Washington Nationals.

Fun fact: Beltre has over 3,000 hits, but most of them are for him hitting Elvis Andrus for touching his head. DON'T touch Adrian Beltre's head!

Michael Young and Ian Kinsler built a great amosphere in the Rangers clubhouse. Elvis grew up in the league learning from those guys and then Beltre shows up and helps him refine himself on and off the field. The rangers have been very lucky, to go from Young and Kinsler to Beltre and Andrus as team leaders. It's now a permanent culture that the fanbase and every future player will be a part of. 2009 forward has been nice as a Rangers fan...the team has an identity beyond just hitting homeruns and the Pudge bandwagon. Winning one of the two WS would have been nice but hell only like 9 teams have even been to the WS in the last 12 years. To go twice is exciting for a team that had only experienced ALDS glory.
@sjc4
@sjc4 6 жыл бұрын
Michael Young for sure. Great ambassador for both the game and for the Rangers. Kinsler is a great player but the relationship soured with Texas... don't know if it was all Daniels, or 50/50 him and Daniels. Shame, because I wish he could've stayed.

when it comes to becoming a manager in most cases you'd see this happen to former catchers Bob Melvin, Joe Girardi, David Ross, Kevin Cash, Brad Ausmus, A.J Hinch, and Gabe Kapler were all catchers it makes sense, since catchers call plays nearly as frequently, on top of what sequence of pitches their battery mate should go with to approach specific hitters, Yogi Berra who was a catcher turned manager said it best "Baseball is 90% mental" and catcher is the most demanding of all positions in this facet among players today I could see Yadier Molina, Martin Maldonado, Wilson Contreras, JT Realmuto, Kyle Higashioka, and Yasmani Grandal make for impressive managers, but I think that the best three candidates for that after their careers are finished are Buster Posey, Jeff Mathis, and ESPECIALLY Salvador Perez(who's been doing a far better job at leading the Royals than Mike Matheny) among retired players I think Russel Martin would be a nice candidate, it would also be nice to see Brian McCann ditch the stench of his brief but scandalous time in Houston, but I would KILL to see a team managed by Ivan Rodruiguez, especially a Rangers team helmed by the son of MLB All-Star Al Leiter, Jack

@roccoanthony8930

Braixen he was actually known as a moody guy outside of his Texas years. Had some issues with both Dodgers and Mariners, and was criticized for having questionable relationship with Ichiro as well (although Ichiro is also known for having a weird personality). He REALLY rejuvenated his career in Texas. Both in actual baseball value and persona wise. If I tell someone 10 years ago that he would be a first ballot hall of famer, and a beloved team captain, nobody would believe it. He was overpaid, massively underachieved in his Seattle years, and had personality conflict with not only few organizations but also star players. It’s great to see someone having this kind of redemption, especially late in his career. He matured a lot, and is unanimously beloved by virtually every fan in baseball.

@sntslilhlpr6601
@sntslilhlpr6601 5 жыл бұрын
It's the only way to maintain power after getting a little fooled on an offspeed pitch, otherwise you'd be out in front and swinging with your arms. Most of the power in a swing comes from the hips rotating into a straight front leg with basically no weight on the back leg, but if you start too early you're likely to bend that front knee and lose all that torque. By keeping it straight that extra split second you're able to still transfer that power to the bat through your core and arms, but the consequence is that you lose your balance and fall onto your back knee right after contact. Beltre was the first guy I ever saw doing this and now you see it a lot more because it makes a ton of sense. The science of hitting is a very interesting topic and I implore everyone interested in baseball to look into it. You'll soon find that most of the stuff your coaches taught you was complete bs, and even most pros have no idea what is really happening - they're just that good.
