2022 Lamborghini Countach - Makes me emotional
This is what happens when you go back in time, study the greats and combine it with modern design and manufacturing methods - something all major car companies should take inspiration from.
The 2022 Lamborghini Countach is still powered by a screaming V12 behind its ribcage and it brings back one of the most iconic automotive silhouettes in history in a modern style.
The V12 in the new Lamborghini Countach puts out 780 hp with an added 34 electric hp.
Lamborghini will build 112 units priced at $3M. All of which are sold.

Repositioning the headlights made a huge impact in my opinion. When i saw the press release photos, things that bugged me were the tail lights and headlights. The taillights were too identical to Sian, which bothered me and still bothers me. In my opinion countach should and must get a unique taillight treatment ( The taillight housing is extremely beautiful). The Headlights were too Angled and a little bit off. I really wished that, if they were horizontal lights it would have been seducingly beautiful. After seeing this redesign i think i can see what i meant by saying "seducingly beautiful".

I think the new Countach still looks AMAZING, but I totally agree with you on the topic of taillights. Take a look at this fanmade concept, which in my opinion, is very close to the perfect modern reinterpretation of the Countach - it has the PERFECT taillights: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5XUo56dZ7Bpoa8 It would be awesome if the two designs had a baby, honestly.

I Love it. They did all of this without the exaggeration of taking everything from that legendary 80s supercar to today. Looks perfect on both future and 80s. Front kinda similar to centenario too at certain angles. I think the hybrid powertrain is the only thing that lacks the character that would lives up to the countach name but other than that this tribute car is a perfection.

It's not that hard to understand why those comments say that. Lamborghini is trying to force a svelte 70's design onto a fat modern chassis. The result is predictably bad. I think most of the people saying this is good is just blinded by nostalgia. IMO, only the rear end looks anywhere near good.

4 the most part tho, u r rite. Nissan’s making a 400Z with more classic proportions, the Supra has returned, the Integra is returning, Acura’s actually making Type-S cars again, Mitsubishi brought back Ralliart, a new patent hints at a Mazda RX-9 with an actual rotary (albeit with hybrid assist for emissions related reasons, but it keeps the rotary, which is that made the RX lineup so unique in the first place, so it’s as good as it’s gonna get), etc.

I wish they would make it the next mass production model instead of limited edition. The odds of ever seeing one is so low. I lived near a lambo dealer in the 80's, my face print is probably still on the showroom glass. One of my fondess memories of my child hood is the first time a countach drove by me while i was riding my bike. I heard an amazing low rumbling sound behind me and i knew what it had to be. Sure enough it was a red countach with spoiler headed to the dealer. 12 year old mind blown!

The Pantera style rear that shows half the tires is a design style that needs to come back in more cars. Almost all my car sketches show massive tires. It just looks 100x better. Also the Countach had to have pop up headlights because regulations didn’t allow headlights to be that low on a car.

Honestly, I was never much of a fan of the original, standard Countach and Diablo, but that new Countach really looks incredible.

8:26 The headlights when higher up looks like 😀 (very happy), but when they are lowered it looks like 🙂 (somewhat happy), almost like the cat with teary eyes, from what I can see.

The side intake just don't work for me. Happy with almost everything else (the headlight shape and placement is kinda meh). If you think this is the perfect interpretation of the Countach, you should review the Arc Design Countach 50 project. It's soooo much cleaner.

Yeah I think that is a pretty universal opinion. Not sure what people are talking about but it is far from a perfect design with all of the redesign videos from proffesionals showing much more coherent designs. Does nobody remember that the original had a naca duct about 25% of the size of that angular Mclaren 570s side intake?

For me Lamborghini's own just looks like a aventador/sian that has been made to look a little closer to the countach,

It's infesting that in movies everyone wants Hollywood to stop looking at the past and nostalgia, but in cars it's the opposite

I need to see it with the rear wing, the later 80's model with the rear wing is still my boyhood hero, and I want to see this one get the wing at some point.
