Just saw this movie on Netflix.... wow, what a performance from Affleck! He is definitely the standout, although I must say the entire cast is great, and made this movie special. On the surface, Triple Frontier looks like a stereotypical bro-action movie, but it has so much more depth than that. I very refreshing take on a classic genre :)

I want to be supportive because I love Charlie (even named my cat Charlie Hunnam), but for some reason I can’t get into this movie. I don’t know what it is. Rewatched it twice - hoping maybe it’s because I’m missing something - but it just feels like it’s missing something, and I feel like Charlie’s talent is way underutilized in it :(

I think it's because this is a very different movie than we, as the audience, assumed it to be (at least on my part.) This is a not a movie about heroisme and military brotherhood, and that threw me off at first. It's a story that reflects the treatment soldiers get when they come home, and how that treatment leads this specific group down a dark path of anger and greed. The whole cast is very downplayed and wooden in the movie, because that is how real-life veterans usually comes across. I personally think Affleck carries this movie home, and his character symbolise exactly what this movie is about. These are just my thoughts of course, and my take on it :)
