I support this. 100% But bottom line as it is now, and as it always will be even with unionization, being a top fighter will never pay you as much the top fighters that also garner a following and are top draws. That’s why someone like Jake Paul and even Ben Askren who has a strong following among MMA fighters in comparison. Like Masvidal who’s been putting out content for years now before even KOing Till or Askren or winning the BMF belt... That’s why Masvidal and Askrens fight was more hyped than the main event on that same card and it boosted him into superstar status with that highlight reel flying knee KO. Because they both had large following going. Paul has still not proven anything in the sport despite two wins and KOs over nobodies. But the point is this fight is going to draw more eyes than most UFC main events. Because he has massive following in comparison to most fighters. So that’s why he and Askren are going to get massive paydays over some of the best fighters in the world in UFC or any promotion. Even with a union this would still be the case. It shouldn’t really be this way. You’d think skill and pro ranking would mean more but it’s just how it is. And to be fair to Jake Paul he’s still young in the sport and simply trying to book fights that will draw and that he can win to get himself credibility and garner the attention of top level pro fighters. Whether he’s actually good enough to be in those fights as Askren states remains to be seen and we’ll have a better idea after this fight. I’m rooting for Askren and it’s intriguing because I think they both highly underestimate the other as fighter and boxer. Should Paul win this, or manage to KO him convincingly we should see his next fight against a legit boxer or MMA striker to see if he can really hang with the pros. This is a winnable fight for him but I also believe Askren will test him and may execute his plan to wear him out and then beat him up. I’ll be watching. Like many others that only care about the really big boxing matches usually. But To reitoI do believe UFC and boxing and all fight promotions even WWE should ensure their fighter proper benefits and healthcare and should even be paying the majority of their fight camp expenses and far larger paydays. But regardless The Mcgregors, Masvidals, Askrens, will always earn exceedingly larger paydays because they draw eyes. And the same is true for non pro fighters like the Paul brothers. I mean Logan is 0-2 and going to sell one of the largest ppvs against Mayweather ever against an undefeated arguably the best boxer of all time. It’s just what it is. I’m not wrong about anything. Jones is arguably the best pound for pound champion in UFC history... but he doesn’t make McGregor Money because he doesn’t have the same following or fan base... had he not tested positive multiple times and been labeled a cheater and been suspended multiple times at the peak of his title runs... been in DUIs... people might of gravitated to him more and he’d be paid more but he screwed himself. And he should get paid for a Francis Super fight... UFC and Dana ate ridiculous for trying not to pay them for that fight and calling him scared. It would be on red of the biggest draw in TV fights in their history the fighters should be paid accordingly and receive a huge portion of that. But facts are he may be one of the best but he’s not one of the most supported and hated by many.
