Goose is a Connecticut-based indie-groove quintet featuring guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach, bassist Trevor Weekz, drummer Ben Atkind, and percussionist Jeffrey Arevalo. With a meteoric rise beginning in the summer of 2019 thanks to a string of standout festival performances, the band has gone from playing small clubs to selling out the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in just a few years. Their latest studio album Dripfield garnered mass praise both within their community and in the more mainstream music world and established the band as far from done with their evolution.

Wow, what a find on Tama! I bought one of the bubinga Tama snares and it’s a beauty. Love that a touring drummer is playing a taped up snare.

I know very little about drums, but had to watch this because I love Ben's playing so much. I'm a huge Goose fan overall, but even as a guitarist I find that I key into his playing more than most drummers. Crazy sense of time and feel and really creative playing. Thanks for what you do, Ben. And appreciate everyone involved in sharing the rig. Cheers, guys!

Do they actually play to a click live on stage?

I believe on a few tracks. I think I heard something about they play to a click on Dripfield.

Many bands play with a click. I think it has helped Ben a bit. He tended to wane a bit in older shows, but it could also be better in-ears .

It’s there for a couple of songs, not everything! Songs like Dripfield or Slow Ready have the on-stage synth loops instead of an in-ear click!
