Catchers usually can easily convert to any position other than MI or CF. No worries. We will fit him in! He’s so big, I’m shocked he is a catcher. He sure looks like a huge 1B to me.

I think 2 premium catchers is gonna become a thing. Offense first catchers will become much easier to come by with robot umps coming.

Hypothetical: What if the two best oriole position players over the next 10 years statistically aren’t even on the big club right now(Holliday/Basallo), and the new ownership strokes the checks to keep the current club intact? What if Holliday/Basallo wind up being like Griffey Jr/E.Martinez at the plate, but for 10-15 seasons surrounded by Rutsch, Gunnar, Mounty, Westburg, Santander, Cowser, Mullins, Stowers, O’Hearn, Hays, Norby, Mayo and that’s 14 names, Murderer’s Row meet Murderer’s Section cuz a row can’t hold this many killers. Seriously, with burnes entering his prime at the head of this much young talent on the hill already, with Felix coming back next year, and a front office that will spend to keep the team, make the trades and sign the free agents we need AND the deepest farm system in ALL OF BASEBALL - I don’t understand how this is going as unnoticed as it is in the media. At this point, Elias has completed all the heavy lifting and couldn’t haven’t wished for this much success, but obviously the player development changes have been immense. The pride of being an Orioles fan has been fully restored for me, personally and the titles/banner brigade is inevitable from here on out as far as I’m concerned. I’ve waited my whole life for a Baltimore Fall Classic, this is the best part of the journey and I intend to enjoy every moment.

I see him replacing Adley. Maybe they share catching duties and are teammates for a year or so, but our cheap ass owner is not going to pay Adley, so they will be looking to trade him for prospects.
