Key takeaway here for me: the body needs to 'regulate' things like inflammation and blood pressure, and if you are hyper-insulinemic those processes are much harder to regulate, because regulating requires occasional absence, but also occasional introduction of insulin. If you eat low carb (and low seed oils, probably), insulin goes up and down, and is released just when needed, in the amount needed... and has the effects it's meant to have. A carb free diet lets your body decide when to raise insulin and when to shut it down... we don't have to try to manipulate it with carb cycling or carb anything.

What about lentils and legumes.they come naturally with poorly absorbed protein and carbs .in india that is what vegetarian depends for their protein requirement and have along with rice or chapatis ( made from wheat flour or millets. Ben's hlthcode powder has several sources of animal protein including egg whites and whey. He has not addressed the issue of whey spiking insulin that i have seen. he does say clearly that when not IR protein does not spike insulin. in my opinion it is a small matter if you are insulin sensitive

And most of those seeking to turn their old beaten up (or diseased) bodies around cannot relate to his style in actually helping their particular needs. However, I have ran across a few (young pretty women trying to be KZbin nutritional influencers), who evoke his name often in their videos. He probably would make a nice calendar pinup for their bulletin boards. Dr. Chaffee also seems stuck in his own personal time warp when it comes to advancing knowledge, as he keeps rehashing when "he was in biology class". I stopped listening to him since there are so many other GIANTS in the field of nutritional biology with something to actually say! His one big contribution was when he did the video on "Plants Trying To Kill You". Otherwise he just regularly reappears on KZbin feeds…missing his shirt.

@@BlackButterFlyTongue I do reject that his style is promoting his physique as much as any nutritional science. And he is trying to make his living at it while influencing others. We get bombarded daily with yapping influencers who trick us into viewing their channel by all sorts of ploys. Including using half naked women on my FB page. I reject it all and will almost boycott everything they ever do. But Chaffee along with the help of KZbin, makes him a constant presence in his half nakedness and only so-so science. Doctors of intellect that have something significant to say, rely on results through medical science to prove their worthiness...and they also get dressed for their days work. Can you imagine going into Chaffee's medical office (if he ever really had a medical practice) and he has no shirt on? I don't listen to Shawn Baker either. Simply because body builders don't look like sane people with what extreme things they do to their body. Body builders are not necessarily even healthy people. They are extremists of the human physique! And I have known several personally. And they have something wrong with their brain. As for Chaffee, he implies he looks that way because he was a Rugby player and athletes in general are lean. But it is not normal for most human beings who aren't in the "look at me" limelight to be ripped. People with psychological issues need to be ripped and walk around with no shirt on! Chaffee has to spend copious hours of his life working out in order to stay that way. He did not get that way by being carnivore...although it is part of maintaining it! But there isn't a single carnivore influencer who gets ripped without working out for hours. So they don't tell us this very important fact so in a sense they ARE lying to us when promoting this image. That IS harmful. I am a carnivore and only respect those who share the true carnivores plight first and foremost! Get real Mr. FlyTongue!!
