As a Clevelander, I can confirm that Ben’s idea is correct. Most of Ohio is pretty normal but Cleveland’s fitting of the phrase “only in Cleveland”.

We live southeast of Cleveland, and we are perfectly normal. Ohio is probably one of the better states (I'm biased, naturally), but if you're in Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati, there is little hope. Super far left, lots of crime, lack of political diversity, etc. Currently, Columbus reigns supreme because it's mostly Gen Z (OSU is there), and they're drinking the kumbia Kool-Aid. It's like Chicago is for Illinois - the normal people don't live in Chicago, only the "defund the police" people do. In Ohio, the State decided to close all of the BMVs except in Columbus (which had 20 locations)! My husband had to renew his DL and said he'd have to drive to Columbus to do it. Really?! Everybody complained about it, so they opened a new BVM 15 minutes away from us. I wanted to write the State a letter and say, "I know we're not that important because we're not in Columbus..." Ohians are not weird and will not be eliminated!

Moved from Columbus back to my hometown of Ashland a couple years ago. So much happier here. Not sure where exactly you're located but there are BMVs in nearly every town with more than 10,000 people. Plus, you can do most things online including renew your driver's license.
