Great video Abby! I can’t thank you enough for what you do and have done for me. I am 78 years old and, because of your inspiration, I have returned to hiking and backpacking. I can’t do what I was able to do when I was younger but I’m outdoors enjoying everything. Thanks again

Often, it's the lesser peaks that are the most rewarding. Gorgeous views!!

Great walk and video. The lack of other hikers shows how obsessed we are with numbers rather than views. I bet the three Munros on the other side of the Arrochar Alps were ‘busy’ while you could enjoy their amazing views on your own.

Wow…I drove to the Rest and Be Thankful this weekend, feeling rubbish and breathed in the power of those mountains. I could only look up and they all had cloud hats on ☺️…I never imaged the view from the top, spectacular. Thanks for sharing it 🙏🏻

Thanks for another great adventure! Really need to get to Scotland! Love the fact you love rocks as much as I do - I always think people think I’m strange because I get so excited by a lump of rock - but rather that than being ordinary! 🤪🤪🤪🤪

Abbie, your infectious enthusiasm and raw love of the outdoors is a true inspiration to my wife and I. Despite being in our seventies, and not being in the best of health, you have reminded us that the best things in life truly are free - fresh air, breathtaking views, peace and tranquility. We love your walks and can sense your mindfulness with every step you take. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us and inspiring us to get out more. Hope lovely things happen for you today. Marion and Steve

Well done Abbie. Ben Donich is on my do list but the last time i went there the mist came down as I was reaching the peak and i thought to be safe that i needed to turn back and I'm glad i did as the weather changed to you couldnae see where you were going.

What great views! Just goes to show that you don't need to hike the highest peaks to get the best views. I really like the sentiment behind those sayings "Today's a good day to have a good day" and "It feels good to feel good". 😀

I love rest and be thankful. I stop there when living in my car, and camp overnight at glen mhor? car park before heading up the highlands for more gawping at the sheer beauty of the scenery. You certainly captured the emotion one feels when surrounded by Gods creation of Scotland. I swear I felt it with you :) Your channel is the one I come to as I mentally embark on backpacking. I have health issues and disability but I have the kit and want to use it and be really wild. Its one thing living in a car, another taking on trails with a bergen but I want to do it. So I will. And you're gunna help me do it lol

Lovely views, the steep climbs make it so worth it. We hiked the Langdale pikes on Saturday which as you know is a difficult climb but the views from Pavey ark, Harrison Stickle and Pike o Stickle are breathtaking ❤

Hi Abbie, I really enjoy your videos, thank you so much. Can I ask what belt you use? Is it to protect your lower back? I have pain there sometimes and that belt looks super supportive. Thanks, Pip

Take the Lochgoilhead cut off at R&BT and there's an opening into the left with plenty of space for parking .

@AbbieBarnesWILD I noticed you put on a large belt when you were gearing up at 0:35 Does that give you back support? Just wondering as I deal with chronic lower back pain. Am slowly getting into hiking. Dealing with chronic pain in my back and legs, I never thought I could do it. Mostly doing day hikes right now. I'm up to doing 5 hours or so right now. Looking for anything to help make it easier.

Hiya, yes I have chronic pain in my fascia and it helps me a lot. I basically use a deadlifting belt. You can find them on amazon easily:)

@@AbbieBarnesWILD Thank you. I will look into getting one. I invested into an osprey day pack (Tempest). It has made a wold of difference. My old pack was hurting my shoulders, upper back so bad I'd be crippled for a week after a simple day out....this pack has made a world of difference. I have added the belt to my "must have" list if and when I start doing some longer backpacking trips.

Near the beginning of this you say Arrochar with a 'ch', I've always said it like arrow-car without the W. I don't mean this as a correction at all, more .. I used to live on gareloch, if I find out I said it wrong for 20 years I'm going to be mortified. Anyone with a bit of local lingo care to chip in?
@whiteeaglewarrior
@whiteeaglewarrior Жыл бұрын
Aye you're right. I would say Arrow-char until a copper pronounced it arro-kar (like you did) Ballachulish was another one ...balla-hoo-lish :)
