I saw Ben Folds last year in Tucson at Fox Theatre, and he absolutely killed it! I always wonder how he does it, but I finally came to realization: Folds is a true artist. Committed and a beautiful singer and writer. Do It Anyway is GREAT! Keep it up Ben!

Oh, don't get me wrong; Ben Folds is beautiful. Great music! Liam is great as well, and his cover is brilliant. A Capella suits this song very well. And you can't say that, that "Liam wouldn't have even thought of making a song like this one," because you haven't proof; that's a matter of perspective, and sort of like Schrodinger's Cat. We won't know until we hear one, and even then it will still be divided.

This isn't as liam dryden song... he covered this. Don't know why everybody think this is is his. Ben folds got the idea for this song after he said he couldn't do something at a performance and somebody yelled "DO IT ANYWAY" to which then they started to improvise this song.

Poor you! Hehe, there are songs I bet you don't like on the old albums. If this band was presenting Smoke as their first song in 13 years I'd probably be annoyed too, because I never liked that song. I happen to like this one a lot, but I think the other songs I've heard (Michael Praytor and Sky High) are really, really good.

I found this through Liam Dryden too, however i think this is better because the original always is. Should check out the music video for this, it will make you like the song more i think. First it was Saskia Hamilton and now Do It Anyway, are there any other amazing songs similar to these two by Ben Folds Five?

Bummer I was hoping this would be a great song...it's not bad just more Ben Folds than Five. Sounds like something he was doing during his EP stage of solo recordings. Hope the rest of the record is better...I could go for another Emaline or philosophy type album!

i can't stand when bands get back together. i mean, i like it, because i get new fresh material from a band i've always loved, but everyone always whines about the old stuff being better and nothing being better than "the old stuff." what the hell are musicians supposed to do? they dedicate their lives to making music, and thats all anyone ever complains about. maybe it's just that you enjoy straightforward catchy tunes and when it doesnt sound like those songs, it's bad. yeah. smart.

You were right when you said that it got thumbed up by the swarm of fans that flocked in response to his video; but that doesn't justify the genius, the creativity of Ben Folds Five, and that without their version, Liam wouldn't have even thought of making a song like this one. It's Bieber logic, more fanbase doesn't equal more genius. It's ok though, it's an opinion if you think Liam's version is better, but you can't deny Ben Folds is better musically speaking.

Hmm, radio edit.... Cutting out words integral to the song...Not cool. I could've made a better edit myself, or just left it alone. Cutting 20 seconds off a song doesn't make it a true radio edit.
