Funny I see Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus do what I call The Twirl Waggle which is more like a clockwise wise looping or twirling of the club head directly down to their ball and stoping In both Nicklaus and Hogan actual swings I believe their trail shoulder is solely turning clockwise and never counterclockwise as they twirl or loops their club clockwise with both hands and wrist directly down through their ball and they immediately are seen exiting left post impact from their ball. Another words I believe the golf swing is not a backswing then reverse forward swing. I believe it solely is a clockwise movement of the trail shoulder in its socket allowing both great player to immediately exit left post impact from their ball. Cheers 🥂😊👍 At least this works for me

Looking forward to seeing your clockwise action although that’s what Jake Knapp does in transition he lowers his right, scap and clavicle while he retracts the scap as well. For the sling

@@paulgormangolf yes! I simply focus on my trail shoulder moving clockwise as the dial center of my complete swing. Will be making a video of this as soon as the weather improves in my area

Paul Gorman, you sir should be in the Golf Hall of Fame, in my humble opinion. I do not know anyone that has been involved in developing or teaching the golf swing through the years with the changing swing ideology. Love your analysis videos.

Paul, almost all of the instruction today is how to get more distance. And ridiculously, most of us weekend warriors can't even physically do those exotic positions. I am not saying everyone could do Hogan either, but I believe everyone can do a simplified version of it. Ben was the king of straight distance (and Moe Norman was up there too).

I would 100% agree that when I see squatting and keeping your ass back while opening up, the hips is not for the average Joe. This should be an athletic motion, or at least one where the dominoes fall into place, like the Hogan model, which is what I base my teaching from, I am doing five lessons the modern fundamentals by Ben Hogan book review on my website with chapter by chapter simplifying the action with those wonderful drawings I think the average Joe can understand that glass plan and see the arms falling down that plane as the body unwinds with the shift to the target

Nice video . To really understand Hogan. You have to use his equipment from his era. Flat , stiff blades from the 50’s / 60’s. Than you can really ‘feel’ what he was saying

A lot of great tips in this video. The tip to look at Hogan high elbow finish with the weak grip and the strong grip has the thumb driving into the life line are the take aways for me today. I see your elbows do not finish as high with the strong grip swing. Does the spear the fish move only work with the weak grip?

Hi Jim, thank you very much! You’re going to love the new web site launching next week, the link is above in this thread. Look at the elbows in the beginning of that video where I have the green lines crossing his body from their rearview. Look how high the elbows are on that iron shot incredible. I did this in Mexico as I had the book in my cart when I was driving around playing golf and I was looking at that video and I went to this par three and hit three irons almost had a hole in one with that elbow finish so high you cannot stay in flexion. You have to extend your body up and through the shot Spearing the fish from the stronger grip would be from the side more so you would spear through it from like a submarine pitcher in the big leagues of baseball or you can javelin spear with a more neutral grip with a more direct line Put your name on the waitlist for the new website as I’m only taking the first 100 people !

Love your analysis of Mr. Hogan's swing. This is probably a dumb question but is there any audio of Mr. Hogan hitting balls? I hear from several older friends that were lucky enough to see Mr. Hogan hit balls, that the sound of his impact was beyond anyone else they ever heard. And that even into his 70's he still had that sound.

I’ve heard the same thing from those that were able to witness Mr. Hogan. I will be putting up some clips soon I. My new website that has that sound you’re looking for;)
