Nice job Chris. Everything you said makes a lot of sense. I’m gonna go out onto the course today and implement all of the things I’ve learned in the last few videos. You certainly make it seem simple. 😊

When you really start understanding what you are trying to do it does get simple, but you need to have the right pictures in your mind first of what needs to be done. Let us know how it goes and thanks for watching.

You are doing a superb job of explaining the BH swing, Chris. Including the release into impact, which properly squares the clubface into impact. I am wearing the chrome off the sweetspots of my 1973 Hogan Apex irons with that release. For me its the same move I'd use to square the bat into the baseball. Its brilliant. Made me sad watching instructors teaching the swing Down and Flip method at the range today.

That is fantastic. I agree, I think it is sad too.

Chris great work as always. I was having a bit of a problem getting this feel but when you over exaggerated the waggle and I could see what that left elbow needs to do it clicked. From modern swing teaching my lead elbow was going the opposite of the waggle. For the moment I am just over exaggerating that lead elbow waggle and on my actual swing I am getting it exactly how you described and my ball contact and accuracy was spot on immediately! Thanks again and keep up the great work.

Hi Chris, this makes complete sense, you should have a X, Y, line on the circle stage, this would reference the moves as a golf swing is trigonometry Great video

When you reference other videos, could you please add a link to them in the description? Thank you and great videos!

Great video Chris Is it more of a wrist roll or a wrist hinge and set with the forearm rolling or rotating? It seems Hogans wrist hinges to the inside . I could be wrong I love that downswing feel with the hands trailing and the trail shoulder dropping I tend to get the trail shoulder moving in front of the trail knee. Today I fell into that On 18 when I focused on dropping the trail shoulder and elbow it flattened out my swing and I hit a slight draw about 320 Keep up the good work!

Great work on 18. I feel in all you describe. I just feel like I am doing with the hands that is causing everything else to move.

Thanks for the great videos Chris.I have been able to add both power and accuracy watching your videos. What has helped me is focusing on a solid backswing to the top and when set,I just feel like I’m a kid playing baseball and the lower body moves correctly without me thinking about it,the right elbow is in a strong position and I have no thoughts of guiding the ball anymore.Curious if you had any other feedback of players using that feel?
@NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan Жыл бұрын
Have had a couple really focusing on the backswing that are kind of experiencing the same feelings. Getting things in the right spots in the backswing kind of makes the downswing happen on auto pilot.

Hello how Ben H managed to keep his left arm extended up to the top of the backswing, I’ve been trying for a long time without success. Thank you for your help.

You are showing Mr. Hogan's Power Golf Long left arm swing. He changed this. That is ok. It is still Hogan. He told Gary Player that the hands are always inside the clubhead. It is inside up and under. He moved everything forward and left. His old swing had the back of the left hand/arm moving into the downswing. It was a pull action. He changed this. He tripped the shaft early and changed his motion coming from of the top of the swing into impact. You are doing a great job. He hated the hook and the short left arm concept and finding the ball with the palm of his right hand versus the back of the left hand. Now it became a pushing the club going back and the pushing the club coming through. It is there but you have to really look at it.

What about the club drop that Hogan did starting the downswing?

Chris - brilliant. I have used your suggestions and am striping the ball purely. My drives are 250+ and I’m 63. Question. Billy Martin, the author of Letter Lessons, describes your same cupping of the wrist but emphatically states the lead elbow has to point DOWN, not OUT .. as I understand you do. I can’t get his method to work rotationally nearly as well as your method. Any thoughts?

You need to try to feel it with the entire lead side. And the back side of Lead lat during the takeaway. Once that is accomplished, it will set the path correctly.

Lots of good stuff tonight on this video. Have you covered Chris if there is a diff with irons vs driver and the swing into impact? Thanks.

No difference, exact same swing.

needs hands and wrists like popeye to swing this way.
