That's the difference between making a difference and being just another brick in the wall. Most Americans are taught how to fail by their school teachers and it sets them up for their lives disasters. If you teach kids to be special, they will become special. If you give every loser kid a medal for participation, they learn that losing is ok. And losing is ok ...... for losers. I'm a winner. I put in the effort. I built two national companies in two different countries. It makes me very sad to be surrounded by losers.

What you’re saying is, Pillsbury broke the law, but because they were rich and thus untouchable. They forced their competitor to resort to more creative approaches to circumvent an issue that should have been solved by our justice system. Great! Gotta say when I was about 13 my family took us on a road trip to Vermont and we went to the factory. The unlimited samples laid out, it was the ice cream equivalent to Willy Wonka. Glorious memories

Sadly most places have gotten rid of factory tours. Insurance, health department regulations and terrorism concerns did them in. I don't know if B&J/Unilever still have the tour. Hershey's Chocolate World is great. I went a few years ago. I know they redid it. Don't know how it is now. It isn't a real factory tour but you can take a "dark ride" through a virtual factory tour. They also have a store that sells EVERYTHING Hershey makes and it is all super fresh. Admission is free.

@The Potato I think the problem with GMOs is mostly it reduces biodiversity in areas where they are growing these crops, because if you have a super resilient crop that beats all the other crop - than that crop will become dominant. But in nature, dominant plants will have animals and grazers that keep them in check as to promote biodiversity that benefits the ecosystem. In agriculture, you don't have that unless you're doing organic farming. So there'll be a monoculture of crops, and if more farmland is made then - more species of plants and animals will become endangered as monocultures don't promote biodiversity. Health-wise, I don't know if these crops are more nutritious or less so.

We had a Ben and Jerry’s in my town, and I’m really sad it closed. They had the best sorbet.

BJ lost me when they moved from ice cream TO SOCIAL CHANGE. :-(

It seems as though many corporations are doing that. In their board meeting they probably don't care about social change, they just want to make sure they don't get canceled by the tyrannical left.

11:17 What's up with the terrorist organization's flag? Pretty sure that Ben & Jerry have nothing to do with terrorists. If I'm wrong, I will never again buy Ben & Jerry's again, ever.

@@scillaburton2965 Yeah, the ones that just signed three major peace deals in the Middle East. That's what America can be if the US Constitution is observed.

@@hollyperrin7353 Signing peace deals doesn't help when you're arming Saudi Arabia (a dictatorship with a bad record on human rights), refueling their bombers and showing them where to strike, and abandoning the Kurds, once again ignoring history and forgetting how ISIS happened. And of course the Trump administration did the usual thing where you try to manufacture consent for an invasion, or back coups, or arm and train rebels in various oil states. Read a book already.

@@nimrodery It's interesting that you cite the evils of US intervention in the Middle East and then assign those evils to Trump. Which president abandoned the Kurds? When did ISIS form? Those things happened before Trump was elected. I work with Middle Eastern militaries, so reading a book is probably a good idea for yourself, but I have the luxury of simply talking with the people. They do not think "Orange Man Bad."

Ben and Jerrys is like one of the best tasting ice creams ever. Häagen-Dazs is my first favourite. From Canada :)

What an inspirational pair Ben and Jerry are. They never gave up on their ice cream idea, they just kept trying new things, and in the end it paid off. Well done guys👍

That was incredibly inspiring til it took the Boomer turn at the end where they literally sold out to Unilever. So much for the little guy.

That’s actually very UNboomer. A boomer would fight tooth and nail for a failing business. You’re the boomer here. Ben and Jerry’s as a brand wouldn’t be as popular without the guys they sold it to advertising it on a big scale.

You do know that many creators of brands dont keep it till their dead ? Its not uncommon that they sell it off to a bigger one and live the rest of the time they have on earth in peace. A retirement in style if you like.
