The Dark World of Megachurches

Megachurches, Televangelists, and the Prosperity Gospel... those were things that I had never heard of before... until I stumbled across an infamous interview with Kenneth Copeland by Lisa Guerrero from Inside Edition.
What ensued after was a dive into rabbit hole unlike any other, from corrupt preachers, to lavish lifestyles, to claims of miracle healings, to cult-ish followings, and New Age/New Thought concepts. This... is the dark world of Megachurches.

Biblical Christianity is true (The words that Jesus AS spoke only). The inventions of Paul are not. And the triune interpretation of God and the original sin that emerged later in the 4th centure are not true either. You find everything explained clear, in the last and final testament: The Holy Qur'an.

A woman I knew asked me to pray about her car problems, when "we" finished praying I said wait let me pray again and I prayed for her driving safety. About 2 days later she crashed her car. She was fine no injuries and she got a better car. Praise God our Lord kept her safe. I took no money and received no reward. But God increased my faith. Amen and thankyou Russell John 5:24.

But here's my question 4u, if you've seen this type of behavior and disingenuous acts 4 such a long time, why do u continue 2 subscribe 2 this religion? I'm genuinely asking, not being sarcastic or anything. If people such as yourself have witnessed such distasteful and immoral practices in Christianity, have u ever stopped 2 research the history and origin of Christianity? Not just a simple wiki look up but an actual indepth research in the Roman Catholic Church, Christianity and the truth about the Greeks involvement in the creation of Christianity. I'll give u a hint, research the men Arrius Piso, Serapis Christus and Josephus flavius and I think you'll understand why there's so much immoral behavior attached 2 Christianity. Be well

@@HaYahwarrior That's a really good question! For me, I would say it's a case of not throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Many people have definitely twisted the Bible to justify their own horrific ideas, and it makes me really angry that they have done that! As Hans mentioned, in the Bible, we find Jesus frequently opposing the megachurch pastors of his day, the Pharisees. Here's an example (forgive the length of it, I just think it does a great job of showing Jesus' take on things): As Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee invited Him to dine with him; so He went in and reclined at the table. But the Pharisee was surprised to see that Jesus did not first wash before the meal. “Now then,” said the Lord, “you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You fools! Did not the One who made the outside make the inside as well? But give as alms the things that are within you, and you will see that everything is clean for you. Woe to you Pharisees! You pay tithes of mint, rue, and every herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former. Woe to you Pharisees! You love the chief seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces. Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, which men walk over without even noticing.” One of the experts in the law told Him, “Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us as well.” “Woe to you as well, experts in the law!” He replied. “You weigh men down with heavy burdens, but you yourselves will not lift a finger to lighten their load."

I cam up with this brilliant idea its : a village for jesus Christ a place far from any city where we leave of grid like no outside help we get few acres of land where we leave totally free from sin no greed money is not allowed because everything's is free we share and no lust before marriage . we grow are own food and got a farm for the cow and chicken too provide are milk and eggs we install solar panels on the roof of the houses so we dont need go to work because the main things are provided and the other things are not important materialistic things dont give long term happiness but leaving GOD'S footsteps will provide you long lasting happiness. This life we leaving at this moment is pure slavery with out us knowing + we leaving in a dark time sin is all around the world trying to pull us in this demonic life and sadly for most of the population it worked but im here to let you guys know that the truth to happiness is by repent to God ask for forgiveness and and avoid sin. And no it's not by just saying sorry and your saved it's by your actions after you repent to avoid doing sin's so by doing the 2 main things you will see a big improvements in your life you be feeling happy. It's not every body in the church's that be intrested in doing this because they still want to continue too indulge in there sin live and the sad part they belive there saved but there really not like I said before it's not by just repenting to God that the individual will be saved is by the action you do after that will determine your fath. So much people belive that when you just repent to God then your saved then there back on there sin's. that's what sad

Um… aren’t YOU the one signing that check??? Needless to say, I declined the job offer.

As a Christian, I’ve always avoided this. My family purposely went to smaller family churches against the mega churches in my area because we felt that it was easier to connect to people who were literally in our tax bracket. I'm sorry but your statement that your pastor being in a lower tax bracket is extremely wrong. I'm sorry just cause you were called by God to preach his word means that you must live a life a poverty. Now I will say my father is a pastor. He has been a pastor my whole life. Now does that mean that my family has to grow up poor because my father job. My family did happen to be poor and it was extremely difficult on my family. My father would work also close to 60 hours a week. Has to sacrifice his time and his family time to be there for the people to learn about Jesus and help people. Listen I'm honestly sorry that your pastor is forced to be in a lower tax bracket. I would question your church make sure they take care of him and I don't know what your job is. However if you don't have a really great job I would ask to see how much work your pastor actually has to do. You would be surprised. I would just question yourself about why you believe that your pastor should be in poverty. Now I'm not saying that pastors need to be rich like these guys. These guys are scammers using Gods name to make money and they will have to face God one day and tell him why they did this. However I'm asking you to question your reasoning on why pastor need to live in poverty because that like saying Doctor should live in poverty cause getting money to help someone is wrong

One of the churches I grew up in was a small little church in Virginia. I remember when they finally said they had to build a new space and upgrade because the congregation and youth ministry had gotten too large. The preacher even said "we will only build the new building with donations. If it takes us a decade, it takes us a decade" --> and sure enough, the pastor was extremely transparent and it took forever to build that new church. "The contractors asked if I wanted stained glass, chandeliers, all these frills... I said I just want comfortable chairs" he'd give little updates like that! He owned a little house out in the country, drove an old car, wore an old suit... a breath of fresh air in a religion that is more and more being consumed by rampant wealth/corruption and hate.

For being a year old, this video is relevant and informative as well as pertinent. Your doctrine is sound and accurate, and the delivery is flawless. You were fair to BOTH sides, meaning that you said that some pastors actually believe that what they do and say is of God, and the same is said of the congregation. This has been an eye opener for me because I was one of the people who believed in it and lost nearly everything from giving all that I have believing that God would in turn do the same, financially, (because this was taught to me ) Well, he didn't. And you'd think that the church would help, but it didn't! We couldn't even buy food! Watching my children go hungry was when I realized that putting gas in his new BMW was far more important to them than the people who provided it. So many others have lost far greater finances than I, and my heart breaks for them. I'm just grateful for being enlightened sooner than most, but this video will stand testament and expose the hidden darkness that is still being cast from the heart of the churches teaching the prosperity gospel un-checked.

I went to a megachurch. We were young newlyweds and we didn't have much money. We had a new baby. The church wanted to build a newer, bigger sanctuary, but they wanted to pay cash. We were exhorted to tithe our gross income (so that God would give us a gross blessing), PLUS give offerings. We gave, and it was difficult. When the sanctuary was done, I was glad we could keep our money now. But then the pastor said, "Now that you know you are capable of giving, you need to keep giving at that amount". And you can be sure: the pastor and the staff all had nice homes, nice cars, nice suits, and nice things. But we felt guilty and materialistic if we spent our money on anything even halfway nice for ourselves. We were doing all our shopping at thrift stores and discount groceries. That was a long time ago. We don't to go church anymore, and our policy is not to give money to people who have MORE than us. We give our money to people who help widows and orphans in 3rd world countries. They truly do need it, and appreciate it.

@AlbertM170
@AlbertM170 Жыл бұрын
@@OPHANIM98 we would say that despite the despicable track record of the Catholic Church and all that it's guilty of, there is simply no evidence of anything resembling widespread manipulation of the Bible. How do we know that? Cause we have thousands of whole copies and fragments of Biblical New Testament texts from the ancient world (a fragment is any copy of a work that has not fully survived to the modern day, so that even a 249-page copy of a 255-page book still counts as a fragment). Greek texts alone number more than 5,000 with another almost 10,000 in other languages, from Latin to Syriac and Coptic. These documents were all written down when the Christian Church was still very decentralised, long before it had anything even remotely resembling any central authority capable of making uniform manipulation of texts across the Roman Empire. Islam had the Rashidun Caliph Uthman, who was able to create a standard Quran to be used throughout the Islamic world, and then burn any copies that did not agree with what his scholars had created. Christianity had no such person(s) or group(s) that could accomplish anything even remotely similar. Using these original 'pure' copies, we can conclude that the Bible has remained intact, with only about 40 verses in the entire New Testament in question. For the Old Testament, it's even easier. We have the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Septuagint. These are copies that are even older than the Christian Church. The Dead Sea Scrolls were about as old as Jesus Himself (give or take a few decades) and the earliest version of the Septuagint about 2 centuries older. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained multiple copies of almost every book of the Old Testament in Hebrew, and had remained undisturbed for almost the entirety of Christian history. The Church cannot manipulate what it doesn't know exists. The Greek Septuagint is so widespread among Jews and Christians that we have too many copies from the ancient world to have been changed uniformly at any point.

There was a clip of a pastor saying that if you didn't tithe, you might as well be a thief. It just goes to show how much they worship the mighty dollar instead of the mighty God.

After the service, she took me down where I kneeled and had the preacher and several other people sit around me with their hands on my head, shoulders and chest. This probably started late 70s and went on through the 80s. He had crazy videos on you may find on KZbin still. That preacher Man says he could bring people back from the dead. I'm not sure the time period again but that was when you could ship bodies through the mail, and that's what people were doing. He made a lot and lots of Bank on this and built quite a unique community down there and he made a lot and lots of Bank on this and built quite a unique community down there and there in Miracle Valley😂 play dilapidated and sitting like an old mosque in the desert. It resembled a mall food court, complete with skylights, numerous tables and chairs, gifts shops and bookstores, sandwich shops and coffee stands (all of which were staffed by unpaid volunteers) and there were ATM kiosks everywhere--but they didn't dispense any cash. They were designed solely to take donations from your debit card to the church. It was obscene, a monument to capitalism.

During 2008 my oldest brother sold drugs because he never wanted to be poor again and because as an atheist he would have not been able to be blessed by giving to the church. I struggled with endometriosis and never felt better through prayer. All pastors i know personally, through my parents, have terrible relationships with their children. They act as if they are superior and that if their children don’t work in the ministry these children are disappointments or even demon possessed. Most of these pastors are also abusive to their children. Child protective services showed up at my house at least 1 to 4 times a year till I was 18. @@nickobryant01 In all my life, there has been no institution as apostate and corrupt as the Catholic church. Putting the pope as "head of the church" undermines the purpose of Christ and His work. No fallible man can speak for Christ but Christ alone. Praising and praying to the saints and angels is a blatant disrespect to God, who demands all glory. The invention of purgatory, apart from not once being mentioned in scripture, undermines the entire purpose of the consequences of sin, and when you remove purgatory from the equation, Catholicism immediately becomes a very hard sell, because Catholicism is presupposed on faith by works, which no matter how much you try to stack up, no good work or ritual or infant baptism or false forgiveness by confessions to priests can earn your way into Heaven as you will always be deemed lacking; the long short is there will never be assurance of salvation by Catholic standards. The Catholics themselves knew this, and is why they had their dissenters exiled and killed. So no, they are not, and never will be the one true church.

Six types of people are not entitled like, father, grandfather, son, daughter, mother, and the last category is Family of Prophet (these people, one can give gift) .... The most important ones are ones' relatives like brother, sister, uncle, aunts and the community... Then the poor student who study Islamic teaching and mostly cannot earn enough due to studies...Then so on... I use to intern at a mini megachurch, and during this program we were pretty much at the church more than we did anything else. One day on a Saturday evening service, the pastor asked everyone to raise both their hands in worship to God and raise them high and close our eyes. I didn't do any of it because at that point I was ready to leave, but when I looked around and saw everyone with their hands raised and their eyes closed, I saw that these people weren't praising God... they were praising the man on stage. Their hands reached out toward him, and he looked like he was soaking in all of the praise and worship for himself. I couldn't fake worship if I tried, and for that people did not like me and it made it very hard to be in that internship because all of the fakenes about that church never sat right with me and I always called it out.

There are lots of fundraisers dressed up as pastors, and they know exactly what you want to hear. So here you are thinking the spirit is leading, and the whole time it's well-orchestrated extraction of your funds.

The bible warns of false teachers, wolves in sheep’s clothing. These preachers definitely fall into this. Your quite right, if these people were true Christians with this type of wealth they would be be helping those in true need, as Jesus would.

How do you know? Make sure you keep your own salvation till the end! Smaller churches are no guarantee either! Neither big churches, if you are not personally awakened, it doesn’t matter the seize of the church, period!

@tictac6161 You can definitely not trust a church this size that doesn't donate 90% of all its earnings. Forget the smaller churches. A group of three can be a scam. But these churches, avoid like the plague

The bible also says that Jehovah drowned children and babies in a world wide flood, but yes, I kind of agree with your sentiment except they are more like vultures than wolves.

"Ye shall know them by their fruit." Matthew 7:15-20. I'm not a Christian, but this phrase has always hit home for me. Don't listen to what someone says, watch what they do. What are they doing with all this money they're gathering....buying a private jet, or cleaning our rivers and saving our soil? If they're feeding our children, that's one thing. If they're only feeding themselves, well....they're a parasite, and that fruit is rotten. To the core. New subscriber, James....you're absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to watch more, keep up the awesome work!

In my personal experience, many of the big and rich churches I've gone to are full of people who treat you like dirt, or don't acknowledge you at all. Many of the smaller and poorer churches I've been to felt a lot more homey and welcoming. Obviously there are outliers for both groups, and many churches lie somewhere in the middle, but for the most part, there is a definite difference between rich and poor churches.

I’m Nigerian, and all my life I’ve lived in the Church by Bishop Oyedepo. In Nigeria, I went to the church, in fact I was born there, In America, MD I’ve been in thins church for a very long time. And I have to say, it works. I feel like Bishop is different, he tells us that sowing your seed is putt8ng what you have into the church. Whether it be by cleaning or using money., and I don’t mean this as an endorsement but I’ve been cleaning the church for years. As I’m doing it, I pray for all my heart desires, and I try to put my heart in it, and everything has been good and going well for me as I pray. I’m not saying because of bishop Oyedepo. I’m saying because of the teachings that God has given through him.
