I got my Ben Nevis 10 in February last year, I really enjoyed it. I paid £40 for it but it’s jumped in price by £20 on some sites since then. I think it changes with every batch as they often have to wait for certain casks to mature before they start to produce it (like last year when there was a shortage for a few months). I don’t recommend it to many people now because of the price but it’s a great whisky to try once your bored of the Supermarket offerings.

looking at my bottle / carton - no mention of colour or chill filtering. Lots of fluff about glacial water. Still one of my faves.

I like Ben Nevis and I'm always on the lookout for the indy offerings. Most recent was a Signatory Ben Nevis 9, from a refill butt cask no: 126, tasty. I also dip my toe in and out of the official offerings. The 10 y.o batch 1 is very good but quite expensive. Best value at the moment is their Glencoe 8, a vatted/blended malt served up at cask strength, that utterly fails to hide the Ben Nevis component, is there actually anything else in it?. Still available for circa £40 ;) Great way to start a flight of dirtier drams or to scoff in a session with pals. Not a stunner but great bang for buck punching above it's price tag...

I found this an interesting whisky and I have not had a lot to do with Ben Nevis.... I did buy the Ralfy bottle and that was so different.... I feel I need to explore this distillery a bit more... Cheers my friend...

Yeah alan my local co op used to have a good few bottles for £37 , they've all gone now but i managed to grab a couple , i found it fruity, sweet , malty & rich , can remember the colour a lot darker tho

Cheers for the review Alan. Haven’t had the 10 for a while. Need to revisit. Missed out on the Ralfy anniversary bottling the Good Spirits Co done. From what I heard though everyone loved that version of Ben Nevis

That's a completely different colour to my BN10 46%. It's a cracking dram and I have an heir ready to uncork. But I recognise the tasting notes. Quite an oily spirit, and you call it clean, where as I regard it as slightly dirty (in a good way) which I attribute to NCF.

Alan this is one of my favourites. A bit dirty and fruity with a great mouth feel. The bottle took quite a while to open up but well worth the wait

I had this in a bar. I liked it, but I didn't love it enough to hunt it down - and this is a hard bottle to come by around here. 86/100 is a very fair score I think.

It's a shame a lot of Ben Nevis new make gets shipped over to Japan. I'm a Ben Nevis fan, a little rough around the edges but in a good way. I think it can take some getting used to. I have the Ralfy exclusive but not opened it yet :)

I have only tried the Ralfy bottle 4 yrs and a few drams here and there... As I said I think this is a distillery to explore Stephen... I think there will be so much more out there.... Cheers fella

This is a strange whisky in my opinion. Not terrible but definitely not great. You are finding so much more than I have ever heard of. Will have to try again. Can't agree about Glenfarclas comparison.
