I did it solo same path as you for the 4th time last September, so it brought back great memories for me this video. I could not believe how many people were going up after the school holidays, mid week and at 07.30 as well, so different from the first time I did it with my 9 and 12 year old sons in 1997. Absolutely stunning views on the way up and climbing above the clouds and so pleased you got a clear summit as well to fully enjoy the spectacular 360 and what a place to have lunch. I led a party of friends to the summit for my 60th birthday and they surprised me with a bottle of champagne and a bottle of single malt whiskey, which we foolishly drank (give the conditions of thick snow on the summit) and it took us all longer to go down that it did to get up - fun day mind. What a great watch that was Linda, great hike but it looked a warm one too, cheers Alan

Hi, I climbed Ben Nevis at the end of May this year. The weather wasn't so nice like on your day. On top of the Ben Nevis was a lot of fog and there was still a little snow field on top of the summit. We stayed with our motorhome at the campsite near the visitor center. Thanks for showing your hike and bringing my memories of this lovely area back. Greetings from Germany.

Really nice film. I'm in the US and hike (aka walk in Scottish apparently 🙂) the White Mtns in New Hampshire. I believe millions of years ago when the continents shifted, the mountains in now Scotland were then part of the range that included the White Mtns. Ben Nevis looks very much like Mt Katahdin (the terminus for the Appalachian Trail, a 2300 mile trail in Eastern US) or Mt Adams/Washington in the Presidential Range. I need to get to Scotland to hike your mountains!

I did Ben Nevis this Saturday and honestly it was hell during some parts of the climb for me and my friend and we consider ourselves fairly fit. Lol. We we're both walking like John Wayne the next day our legs were so sore! I wish I had done some walks up steep hills rather than thinking being a keen cyclist would be enough. Good luck if you do go for it!

@LindaOutdoors Жыл бұрын
The path is easy to follow but as you approach the summit plateau which is vast there are lots of boulders and in poor visibility it would be easy to get lost. There are a few cairns which have been erected to help guide you. Carry a map & compass or at least have the route downloaded on your phone and you should be fine. Enjoy. 👍 It took around 7 hrs in total.
