Great version of a rarely heard song. Swings like crazy. And that piano solo is an absolute gem. Superb guitar player too. It’s just a terrific performance all round. More please.

Was one of the great songs by Harry Warren, Mack Gordon for the '45 movie, Diamond Horseshoe. Dick Haymes sang it as a ballad. Another from that movie was "The More I See You."

Wow, what a quality jazz! Your trio playing is just "sophisticated." So young and already in the realm of top quality... what a talent! I'm so glad to find you.

Beautiful ballad that also works uptempo. Singer has both good vocal and piano chops. I wonder why the song has to be 4/4 walking bass from the start. Miles showed how well the 2/4, or 2-beat, feel can work on the tune's chorus, prior to going to walking 4/4 for the ride.

Does anyone know what those damn chords are!?! Lol. First part 2-5, 2-5 to the IMaj7. Than he goes down to eventually coming back to the ii chord. How does he do this? Can't figure it out
@BenPatersonMusicАй бұрын
@@JoelvHeteren try IMaj7 - IV7 - iiim7 - VI7, or in this case Eb - Ab7 - Gm7 - C7.

@BenPatersonMusic Daaaaang! That's it man! The IV chord! Thank u so much Ben! Really REALLY appreciate it! Keep up your beautiful music! We all keep listening! 🙏

@@JoelvHeteren Thanks for listening! Glad I could help. That 1-4-3-6 pattern is very useful, think of it like the first few bars of There Is No Greater Love, or bars 3 and 4 of I've Never Been In Love Before, or bars 5 and 6 of It Could Happen To You, lots of good examples!

@@BenPatersonMusic yeah it all makes sense now! Got some stuff to work on this weekend! Thanks man for the tips and helping another musician! Btw.. You and Guy King should be doing some more stuff together! God bless u Ben🙏
