Steelers ain’t even my team, but I shed a tear when he went around to all the front row fans. It’s not uncommon for star QBs to switch teams; Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Joe Montana… but Big Ben stayed loyal to Pittsburg. Watching him give that finial moment of pure love to the fans at Heinz Felid was an unspeakable beauty that only NFL fans could really understand the weight of.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. It was also the last game where they wore the yellow helmet/silver pants throwbacks(my favorites. Btw) the game was 7-3 all the way until Ben limped back in with 3 minutes or so left in the game, Ben hits AB on a back shoulder fade on a go route, and AB takes it the distance for the clincher

At the end of the day, he's still gonna go out missing the playoffs and losing his last 3 playoff games and without a post season win in 5 consecutive seasons. As much as I love Ben, that hurts and it's also why while I don't believe a thing that comes out of AB's mouth it does have a kernol of truth, there's one year left on his deal and who knows if that'll eat at him during the offseason and he'll pull a farve. It was the most emotional departure in sports I have personally ever witnessed, I think it is because he brought the Steelers back to relevance after the Terry Bradshaw drought, and then it is just a combination of the Steeler fans loving him and Ben returning that love. It mattered that Ben always acted as if he was proud and happy to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, he said it a lot through his whole career and the fans remember (I remembered) and appreciated that because then we feel like family in some way. We were in it together, He was not just some QB that was indifferent to the fans or the city. Those things matter.
