Glad Ben is ok now. My heart sank when I saw his car. My husband was in a car accident 2 years ago. He was rear ended by a drunk driver. Luckily there wasn't much damage to our car. I can't go into details because it is still going through court. He still wakes up every night at 2am (when it happened) and jolts. He hasn't driven since. He does suffer from severe PTSD because of it.

I lost it watching this vlog. My Dad was involved in an accident at the Ritson Road off ramp in Oshawa. The woman behind him claimed she wasn't speeding but she drove his car up over the guardrail. She hit him so hard that the back rest sheared off and a bunch of other horrible things happened to the car. At that time he was a pharmaceutical sales rep so he needed the contents of his trunk. When he arrived at the wreckers, the employee wanted to know if Dad was related to the driver because there was "no way" anyone could have survived that crash. I think about that crash EVERY time I pass that spot... It was an 80s accident and Dad passed in 2013... There was a bad accident there just last month... The off ramp is too short and people come in there way too quickly... Heather xo

Ben is a lucky boy. My mother was involved in a collision a few years back and when I went to the car recovery yard to see the car my reaction was a little bit like yours. Complete shock and you can't help but shed a few tears. Luckily she was fine. Ben will be fine and at least we can take some positives from this situation. Cars are easily replaced, people are not.

my heart goes out to ben even now. im about his age if not much older and i feel for him… being involved in the racing community up until i was 20 taught me that it can happen in a heartbeat at anytime. I can totally empathize Ken, being a parent. He's gonna be OK, he was in a good car which you can see by the airbag, thank god he must have worn a seat belt. These measures helped save him and protect him from further harm. The fact he is going to be OK is down to a loving family bringing up a child to be safety conscious. You taught Ben to wear a seat belt and he listened. Great family, full of love.

It's amazing what you can walk away from! Many years ago, I loaned my then new 82 Firebird to a friend. After a light rain, she tried to pass another vehicle, lost control, put it over the curb onto grass causing it to go sideways into 12" square cement post that was supporting a wooden parking abutment. The post was pushed to a 45 degree angle launching the car into the air where witnesses said it flipped 2-3 times before coming to rest upside down. My friend cut her knee crawling out over broken glass. Ben, the full impact won't hit you for a couple of days, take care guy!!!
