My heart too. I wish my brother was still living. When younger, we rebuilt a number of Jeep engines, did major body work and total (interior and exterior) repainting of Jeeps, built a high-performance small-block Chevy from a bare block, hunted and fished together, etc. Life’s short. You never know when everything will forever change without warning and destroy your plans and dreams. Enjoy life to the fullest!

I had a quart bottle leak in the floor board of a 72 chevy pickup back in 86, changed carpet, pressure washed floor board, almost never eliminated that odor!

@@Gaspipenicklioni A few years back, I pulled the front diff out of my Brother's Explorer because it burnt up, so naturally the gear oil had boiled. Well... not too long after cracking the diff open, Dominion Energy pulls up to the house because my neighbor called and reported a natural gas leak, LOL. The smell sticks in your nostrils, and is very easy for your memory to recall.

It was a necessity. Jeeps are garbage, they need to be rebuilt and strengthened so they don't leave one stranded like they always do. My neighbor bought a brand new Jeep and within three weeks the transmission went out.

Considering this Jeep is what we in the UK call a "Shed Built" project. I think the previous owner/builder did a heck of a job. Now with you guys who have all the equipment, time, know how (knowledge/experience), and get up and go. I think Ben's new ride is going to be amazing. You guys rock. Edit: Look at Landon swinging the tools and bouncing tires. Not to far in the future I can see "Fab Rat's Jr." channel.

This jeep seems to have a solid drivetrain and a nice transfer case and it’s perfect for the Paul and Ben to build it up from here. This will be an awesome build and it should turn out to be a very capable rig. Ben deserves this !

A Hougen mag drill would make the fab life a lot easier. Don’t be afraid to bash those headers to make them fit. Also, ls motors love mls gaskets for the exhaust manifolds and heads.

Paul is a self taught everything, before this he was a linesman but has no formal training in welding, mechanics, fabrication etc. That said I hope Landon learns as much as he can while he is with his dad and uncle. Ben is a qualified mechanic, which is why he gets a lot of the diagnostic jobs and also why they make such a great team.

It will definitely be nice to see Ben out on the trails with his own rig!! It was definitely sad to see his original jeep get demolished while he was on his way to the shop!! Plus he had been working on it for so long that definitely has to be a kick in the teeth for sure!!! Hopefully been will like this jeep much better though or at least get it to the way he likes it!!! I -KNOW- that Paul knows better than to take ALL the bolts out of the diff cover! You ALWAYS leave the top bolt in while you apply the hammer to loosen the cover. Then the cover hangs on that top bolt while the icky stuff drains out! What were you thinking Paul!???

X2 on that comment! And the best tip is to use an old filé knife your wife scrapped out from the kitchen. Hammer it around the silicon seal and boom you get your cover or oil pan loose easy and with full control 👌
