That one time when New York State Athletic Commission stripped Ali of his belt for his refusal to fight in Vietnam war, they wanted to make an example of him for his activism. Italian-American Mafia's chokehold on the boxing world where the fighters of their choice were expected to take a fall against inferior fighters to make some real money for the "important" people who bet on them, most notable promotion enforcer being Frankie Carbo. Frankie Carbo was a hitman for Murder Inc. who then later transitioned into becoming one of the most powerful promoters in Boxing in 1940's, having constant involvement with fixing fights and what not. Then you have life usurping actions of Don King who blatantly robbed many of his fighters, most famously known for robbing Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. You name it, we don't need to be a lifelong fans of Boxing to know just how corrupt it is, it's been mostly like this. I hope I answered some of your questions 😂
