He's very unpopular in Poland. I'll be honest the more some priests and people keep trying to force actual faithful to accept "Francis" and chastise them for criticising him and questioning if he's a legit Pope, that will drive people away or decimate the church. I just finished mine and was Baptized and Confirmed during Easter Vigil. All young people. I was taught strict traditional Catholic beliefs during RCIA and we learned a lot about the Sacraments and discussed moral issues. We also had a very traditional priest from Africa who speaks out against Communism and other issues regularly during his homilies. This is up in Canada BTW, a very secular/liberal country! Not all hope is lost, I will pray for you.

I was born and baptized Catholic less than a month later. I was Confirmed before graduating eighth grade. I've served as an altar boy and eucharistic minister, and while I no longer believe that laity should handle the Blessed Sacrament, I did so at the time with all reverence. Liberation Theology should be declared a heresy within the Church. We need to return to the Leonine prayers after Mass. We need to pray for Francis' repentance from his many acts of schism and dedication to Christ's Church.

Dear Dr. Marshall--- Please clarify what it means to "stay in the Catholic Church". This phrase can be confusing for many Catholics. Obviously, it means on the surface that one shouldn't renounce the Catholic Faith, leaving Holy Mother Church for Protestantism and the like. But what about recognizing false shepherds and false teaching? One has to have the knowledge to recognize these dangers to the faith and flee from them. For my family, this meant leaving one church building and "shepherd" to search for a "building" that housed a shepherd who taught the true Faith and administered the sacraments. "Staying in the Catholic Church" doesn't always mean supporting modern conciliar ways and "belief" systems, especially when these systems and shepherds are abusing their positions and the "loyalties" of the Faithful.

Amen, to everything you had to say about poor Francis, I'm afraid for him and those whom the Lord called to guide holy mother church and are deliberately failing to do so, they face judgement and not His mercy, as the blessed Mother Mary continues to tell us, "pray, pray, pray" and "pray the Rosary daily for world peace" but she also says to pray it slow and not in a hurry.

More like he sees an opportunity to take a jab at the Church. Shapiro has typically aggressive feelings about Jesus Christ (which people always excuse because he’s Jewish, as if that makes his hatred for Christ acceptable). He doesn’t care about the Church’s well being. Any critiques he has about the (objectively observable) problems in the modern Church come from him recognizing the opportunity to vent his religious hatred for Christianity.
