He didn't have a left hand so he shot it a lot. It's also why he much preferred the left block over the right so he could go to his jumphook rather than his semi-janky fadeaway
@Buttington_Headerson17 күн бұрын
@@PaulS-q9cit’s wild how many players didn’t have an off hand game but we only point it out on players we want to hate on. Who cares if they still were unstoppable. Rarely saw Manu go right or Duncan go left.

Well, that's one of the differences between Shaq and Thor Bjornsson, there are a lot of tall and strong people, but only one moved like that in the low post.

I loved that Lakers team. Eddie Jones, Rick Fox, D Fish, Shaq. Those were definitely the good ole days

Guys making $50m a year can't be taking elbows to the face. That's like parking your Ferrari at a walmart.

Shaq making offensive fouls for a living in the early 00's what a career 🤣😂
@Jdelli0916Ай бұрын
It wasn't a foul in the big boy league. Now a days in the baby play pit pat league, Shaq and Ben would be ejected from every game. These boys can't hang.

That's what the sport is in reality, its physical. I had a big guy knock the air out of me once when he was posting up. I did not expect him to lower his shoulder and drive it straight into my chest. After that, I gave him no space in the post and started hand-checking him while he was in the air catching passes. *NBA today:* I would have flopped for a flagrant 2 on the shoulder hit and then fouled out w/ the hand checking 😅😅

This younger version of Ben Wallace was so different to Pistons (Afro-Ben). Slimmer, smaller, less dominant. Shaq was in his early prime years and couldn't be stopped.

miss this style of center play. stretch/passing centers are fun imo, but footwork/technique/power centers, especially shaq, was so pleasing to the eyes to watch. i don't think the younger NBA fans realize how smooth shaq was in the post and only see him as a physical force - that was just a plus in his game.

@georgevaughn6486Ай бұрын
Agreed but they are canceled out by the 832 uncalled defensive fouls inflicted on O'Neal.
@sonofsarekАй бұрын
@ the defensive fouls happen because the charges go uncalled. If the refs don’t allow you to play legitimate defense, you are forced to foul.
@CBarber22Ай бұрын
Look at Ben Wallace's hands as soon as Shaq begins to establish post position, literally holding onto Shaq's waist every time. Everybody was doing this because it was the only way to hold your ground against his weight. Shaq was just the most difficult player to officiate of all time, there's nothing you could have done to make it more fair
@CBarber22Ай бұрын
@zzzvain9710 Wilt played in an 8 team league with a limit on black players. Shooting fadeaways against 6-6 guys, Bill Russell said Wilt's playstyle was the reason he could never win against him. He needed to assert himself like Shaq.
@CBarber22Ай бұрын
@zzzvain9710 sounds like a lot of belt to ass, Bill Russell owned him. Shaq was putting Yao and Shawn Bradley in the rim, height does not matter. Wilt was a 300-pound finesse player, no toughness, no grit.
