One of the fascinations of KZbin is you think you've found the ultimate cover of a timeless classic, only to later discover an even more gifted virtuoso who completely blitzes everything you've heard before. After a while it leaves you wondering how long this progression of excellence can possibly continue. I'd listened to maybe half a dozen renditions of BH thinking that they were pretty special, only to now encounter Mr Peter Bence. Now who could possibly top this? Putting Peter's speed and and flamboyant style aside, the arrangement and innovation, while still remaining completely faithful to Freddie's original composition, is so far unparalleled...... and by some distance. Of course it's a matter of personal taste, and this is merely my humble opinion.

I've been playing the piano since I was 7 years of age in 1952 and had classical training for 4 years and the developed my own jass style, I play almost everyday. I saw Roy Budd in 1969 and he was an absolute Star at the keyboard in Jass. I watched he play In an English Country Garden in a Minor key!! No mean feet at all. This rendition of BH is so far the best I have ever heard, as music is purely subjective and always will be I feel this the fine performance will not even be equally for a long time Excellent !!

This man is blessed not just gifted. My son sent me a link to a cover he did of Michael Jackson's Beat It on a looper pedal hooked to a Grand Piano. Absolutely amazing. Which led me here. I'm still amazed. I've been playing the piano for over 45 years and, although I can hold my own, this Piano Virtuoso has me rapt. Absolutely Blessed not just gifted.

When Freddie wrote this masterpiece, I feel that he played around with it in his mind during the composing stage, hearing all sorts of possibilities in which the tune could manifest itself, and today on stumbling across this mind bending adaptation by a true genius, I think Freddie's dreams of its full potential have been realised. From earth to the very farthest point of the universe this is the most wonderful piece of brilliance I have heard. Thank you for bringing this into my life Peter.

Freddie loved Chopin and Mozart. He listened to classical music more than other genres, and loved opera. He was very fleet-fingered himself and had the aptitude to be a virtuoso, IMO. Freddie would be SPEECHLESS over this. He couldn’t be more blown away than to hear his music performed so passionately as a classical piano concerto. ❤❤BRAVO, Peter!!!

I rarely comment twice but I will here. I've listened to as many other KZbin videos of Peter's that I could find, but I have reached the conclusion that Bohemian Rhapsody is singularly his most impressive and original arrangement. I think that's helped because BR is such a masterpiece in the first place, Freddie M was a great composer in his own right. But Peter takes this to a whole new level, and his explosive climax is beyond amazing. Somehow he manages to infuse a touch of Chopin, and of Beethoven, and of Peter Bence, in places, and whenever he goes walkabout he still retains much of the theme and substance of the original. I'm by no means an expert and of course at the end of the day it's all about personal taste, but Peter is somebody I doubt I'll ever tire of listening to. The word 'genius' is too easily bestowed on people imo, but here is a man who is surely worthy of it. [EDIT -- Feb 19, 2023] I keep coming back to listen to this clip. For me, it's sublime. And I pick up more little nuances every time I listen. I can't imagine even Peter himself surpassing this performance. His flamboyant, effortless, almost dismissive style of playing makes me smile. It's like his fingers are saying "this is too easy, find us something a bit more challenging". Wow. Just wow. I'm speechless.
